Answer This Question
A: Once the yellowjackets have been caught, they will stay alive for some time. Hanging the trap in full sun will warm the trap and help the insects to expire faster.

Q:The yellow jacket nest is in my window unit AC. They are crawling out of it into my house. Can this trap be used in my house? I am so tired of them.

Answer This Question
A: We do not suggest placing the trap indoors. While it is non-toxic, the attractant still produces a smell that will attract more insects into your home, making your problem worse. We recommend placing these traps outside and at least 20 feet away from any building entrances, windows, and areas with human activity. By doing this, you can help attract insects out of your house and prevent more from entering in the first place.

Q:Can it be used indoors in a basement?

Answer This Question
A: We can't recommend indoor use. The lure is powerful and will draw yellowjackets to the trap. A basement placement sounds like you have a nest in/near your basement, and the trap doesn't perform well when it is close to a nest.

A: I would try using the 3 month cartridge instead of the cotton and liquid that this comes with, if that doesn’t work I would try the green container, it’s the WHY, wasps, hornets and yellowjackets.

A: The yellow jacket Like hummingbird feeder’s place yellow jacket trap 2 feet away from it you should see a difference in a couple days

A: Hummingbird feeders can create some complications. Since it is an easily accessible source of food and water for insects, they will often be drawn to the feeder. We suggest taking it down or placing the trap 20 feet away from the feeder.

A: You will want to place this Reusable Yellowjacket Trap at least 20ft from known nest. The attractant will draw the yellowjacket out of their nest and to the trap. If you have anymore questions please contact us at info@rescue.com.

A: There are a few reasons that may explain why you aren’t catching very many yellowjackets. Many problems with these traps not catching can be solved by moving the trap to a better location. We recommend hanging the trap at least 20 feet from any nests, other traps, and areas with human activity. You may also have more wasps than yellowjackets, which won't be attracted to this trap. We have more information about their differences at https://www.rescue.com/latest-buzz/helpful-hints/is-that-a-wasp-or-a-yellowjacket/
Finally, you may have a bad batch of attractants. Even with our strict quality control measures as a Made in USA manufacturer, sometimes we will still get a bad batch. Please contact RESCUE! at info@rescue.com and we'll do everything we can to help.

A: It depends on the yellow jackets. You might try moving it to different locations. Sometimes near water and lower to the ground helps. Also, try Frozen concentrated Apple Juice in the trap to attract them.
