Customer Reviews for RIDGID 18V Lithium-Ion 2.0 Ah Battery Starter Kit

I bought this with the 18V Brushless Sub-Compact Cordless 3-inch Multi-Material Saw, free battery promo, 2 weeks ago, the 3-inch saw is great! But the 2Ah battery is not. It's 3 year old and the capacity is reduced out of the box, after 2 full charge discharge cycles. Date code on the battery is 2020 and right out of the box it's fully discharged, the first gauge light is blinking, meaning you have to charge-it immediately.

**Team Ridgid, i am interested in testing new products, and sharing my ideas for development.** This may be a first review of this kit, so i will aim to give a solid summary of the kit you are getting. Kit has a bag perfect for carrying an impact driver or wrench with a battery and accessories. A charger that worked flawlessly, and can easily be mounted on a wall or a workbench, and 2 4AH batteries of the newest kind. Batteries by ridgid are generally of high quality, and these are no exception. Model on them changed, and the newest ones are: r87004 (130606001) The new bats showed more than 18volts on the volt meter. This translated to noticeably more power in my tools. I recommend these batteries for circular saw, the inflator, and other tools that do not use battery as a stand. The extra power will no doubt be appreciated. My personal preference is still with Octane bats, and the previous generation 4ah (rubber molding around the battery). But a major reason for this, is i do not need the tools to output more power than the last generation provided, and in my assessment, the new bats are more powerful than all of the predecessors. Can you make your own rubber feet for these bats? No doubt. And i will look forward to future reviewers showing photos of their battery mods. For reference on what i used for comparison. I own 4ah various generations bats, 3ah Octane, and 1.5ah batteries only. (Ridgid has 1.5, 2, 3,4,5,6,8,9ah bats.) These 4ah are the strongest ones I have got. My flashlights are set for days at a time.

This was a Christmas gift for my son. He seen to be very happy with my selection. Best warranty in the business. The only drawback back was it came with no storage bag.

The longevity of the batteries, they are awesome and worth what you pay??

The batteries are really really good. I knew what I was buying. They do not last as long as the big batteries but I do like them.

Nice radio but has a couple of strange features. For some reason it always shouts at you, POWER ON, POWER OFF?! I obviously already knew that as I was the one who pushed the button, so not required. It also always turns on full volume?! Why not just remember my last setting? But other than those issues, it's a nice radio.

The battery kit is great for drills but 2ah battery just isn’t enough power to make cuts using the skill saw that it comes with.

It did not fit in our Ridgid Pro Press. Returning the battery to my local HD was very easy though.

This battery is horrible! Lasts less than 10 minutes. It must be defective in some way

This is the best way to purchase anything from Home Depot so quick and easy with discounts on certain products try it out

the images led me to think I was purchasing the 4ah batteries, but then they came they were the 2ah which meant i had to go the the store anyway to retrieve what i needed and pay the 50% difference. Could have saved time and aggravation had I just went to the store to start with.
