Was just what I needed to mount my vacuum and still reach my entire garage. Was able to adapt original vacuum hose, without extra adapters. A bit stiff, but manageable.

Good Hose to extend the reach of my Vacuum
I bought this hose to extend the reach of my shop vac but none of the adapters that come with the hose fit my vacuum at first I though to return it but I remembered that I bought another kit from ridgid to use to vacuum my car and that kit came with an adapter so I decide to try and maybe I can connect the long hose to my old vacuum and that worked perfectly so now I have a 26 long hose instead a 20 and if I buy another adapter I can increase to 32 using my car vacuum hose so it worked

Doesn't fit most 2-1/2" Rigid vacs
What a bummer! What you get is not what is spec'ed out. Over the years I have bought 4 different 2-1/2" hoses. All fit fine on my 3 different Rigid vac's. It was time to buy another so I checked the spec's, confirmed it was a 2-1/2" hose bought it, waited 12 days to get it, opened the box and found 4 connectors in the box. All 4 were only 2-1/4". Sad to say a 2-1/4" hose does NOT fit in a 2-1/2" hole. The gap is so large I can fit 3 pencils in the gap. See pictures below. Time to do a return

Built a combe vac and chip collector. Combined with new hose for triple play. Only missed 5 star since i could not find a connector to temp join 2 hoses so i could match with my cnc vac system. Phone support helped but could not find 2.25 diameter connector

I thought I might be able to adapt the 2-1/2 hose to fit my smaller size wet/dry vacuum to make the hose longer. I did kind of make it work and I think it will be fine for my needs. So far it works OK for the dry vacuum and I am hoping it will work for the wet vacuum as well. I haven't found a adapter yet that will actually work.

DOESN'T FIT - Plain and Simple
Stop posting call customer service. You market this as fitting ALL Rigid Shop vacs and it simply DOES NOT! Why do I have to make an other trip due to your incompetence? Time is money and you have wasted my time so you owe me money. Measurements are wrong, statement that it fits all Rigid Vacs are wrong. Flat out lies. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I am using this to attach to my rigid vac in the garage but I don’t want to move the dust collection cart when we use it to clean our cars. I bought this item to provide that reach we were looking for. If you’re hesitating, don’t, just get it. The only thing I’ll say is the box arrived completely destroyed by some third party carrier after they held it at their warehouse for over a week and finally delivered on a holiday. I’ll ship to store from now on even though that can also be a pain.

While you're reviewing the description on the website you should review the description on the box because it says the same thing- fits all Ridgid vacs. BTW the description on the website says fits most rigid vacs but it also says fits all Ridgid vacs.

If you have an old Rigid Shop Vac, here is the fix to make this hose work with it!
I was dismayed to discover this hose does nopt fit older Rigid Shyop Vac. It is not 2 1/2" but 2". I am desperate. I have a large coastal property on a lake and now is the time to sell. I delayed major interior remodeling because it involves a lot of sheetrock cutting, and wood and sheetrock sanding. I ordered this hose and a boatload of the shop-vac liner bags. Was already to work today and discovered this hose does not fit older Rigid Shop Vacs. I am desperat6e and was going to just duck tape this to my old cracked hose so I could work, but while sizing everything up I realized the part of the old hose and new hose where the locking "pull-along" attachment fits are identical in size. OK. This is not easy, and took me close to an hour, but I was able to revove the old connector (easy because I just slashed off the hose) and attachj it to the new hose. Looks and works like brand new, and all my other attachments fit fine. The attached photo shows the end result, and the tools needed. The HARD, TEDIOUS part comes after you saw off the exposed end of the attachment on the new hose. Then you have to VERY CAREFULLY cut out the interior of the attachment part that is inside the new hose. It is critical you not cut the new hose. If you do at this critical juncture it will quickly fail on you. I slowly cut by hand, sliding my carpenter's knife at an angloe between the inside of the hose and the part you are removing. I wore l;eather gloves, as this is a tricky cut to do. I made multiple cuts an inch apart and used the bent needle nose pliers to work it out when I got to the bottom. If you own an old shop vac you are probably an old carpenter like me, and should be able to handle this. Now it is absolutely as good as new. Well, I guess technically it is mostly new! :)

Works on my 1990's Craftsman Wet/Dry Vac
I have a 1990's era Craftsman wet/dry vac, Model 113.177490, that came with a 2-1/2" hose using 2-1/4" tips. Although this hose is noticeably thinner walled that the OE hose, it works almost perfectly. The part number for my manufacturer discontinued vac hose was 9-17820. The only issue, and it is very minor, is that the pre-assembled end of this hose has a locking adapter (part #3 in the product photo above) pre-installed on one end. It is not tapered like the Craftsman hose tip and relies on a lock to hold. No worries. Two wraps of clear packing tape fixed it. Note that the other end of the hose, when fitted with the included friction adapter (part #2 in the product photo), works great.

I love the extra length of hose to get to places I can't take the vacuum, like around my attic opening, or vacuuming a different room. It came with 3 different attachments. I was hoping to connect 2 of the 20 foot hoses together, but that didn't work. But the 20 foot works good by itself.

The only drawback is the locking tab on the one end. They give you three fittings but one is already attached. First, I would recommend not attaching any of them and sending four fittings. Second, the locking tab is molded too high off the tube to effectively lock. The hose does pull off the vacuum. Other than that, its a hose.

Better buy than the 13 foot. If you have an older Rigid shop vac like me, mine is a 6.25 from 2001, the connector in the vac is slightly larger than the newer 2.5 inch vac and Home depot or Rigid online don't have the older fitting. I found one on a online parts store. Shame on Home depot.

This hose does NOT easily couple into your existing hose giving added length. to accomplish the task, you must leave off one of the pictured hose ends and force couple the large open hose end onto your straight 2 ft. long tube. Else you must use your existing hose for one vacuum port and this hose for the other vacuum port making the vacuum cannister and motor sit in the middle of the two hoses.

Bought this 20 foot long hose with adapters on sale as it says it fits Ridgid Vacuums and the original hose was splitting after a couple years. None of the newly supplied adapters were large enough to fit this vac, 16gal, 5hp. After some research found that Ridgid doesn't make anything but original hose to fit the inlet of 2 5/8". The original 7ft hose is just too short and too small diameter to get the same thing again. Decided to keep and adapted to fit the oversize vacuum openings by using part of the old hose coupler. Hopefully it last longer without cracking. Poor design on Ridgid part not to be the same as the rest of their vacuums or to at least offer a separate adapter.

Hello 900rr1, Thanks for your feedback and we're sorry to have learned your disappointment. While we're not certain how the splitting happened on the original hose, note that the hoses will naturally wear out as you use the vac. We could inspect whether it's a manufacturing defect or it's normal wear and tear. In addition, it's true that our new hoses no longer have the adapter for the old vacuum models. However, you may call call our Customer Service at 1-800-474-3443 from Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time and we'll see how we can be of help. Thanks, RIDGID Ridgid

Older Vac needs another adapter, ( Not included )
Im sure that this will work great, its a plastic hose. Howerver, if you have an older style vac with a red clip that connects to the vac, this hose nor any of the included adapters will work. Even though the box says older style and newer style adapter they are all too small of a diameter to fit the older style vac. From that point out everything is the same diameter so the new hose wont fit to the old hose or to the older vac. You have to call them and have them send you one. More delays. You would think that they could send you just one more piece of plastic to make it work, but no, they dont.

Allows vacuuming entire stairway and landing, exactly what was needed. Made bringing Christmas items from attic much cleaner. Able to pull light flexible hose up while vacuuming each step and several feet onto attic floor. Attaches to hose that came with shop vac and still has tremendous suction. Only hassle is finding a place to keep the long hose. Quite satisfied with flexibility and light weight of hose. Easy to spin removing loops. Hose is a great accessories making the shop vac ever greater at cleaning. Hose well worth the cost for the added ease of use without any noticeable loss of suction.
