Great vacuum
Love the size, weight and power. I have quite a few Ridgid tools on the battery platform so this portable fits nicely with my choices. I have had great experiences with Ridgid tools and have converted my son to that platform.

Convenient & Powerful
We bought these for the kids for Christmas with the car care kit. I tried it out with my car and it was so easy to maneuver around and get into all the cracks & crevices. Took a while to figure out how to connect the two hoses tho!!!

These are great little shop vacs light and easy to move around. They have almost as much suction as a full size. Only issue is the hose design little to short and allows shop vac to tip over easily.

More portable
This is much easier to move from one area to another than my full size shop vac and it vacuums just as well. I have more small jobs to clean up than large ones so this is much more portable.

This is a powerful vacuum. It was meant to be compact and portable, but not so much. It is larger than it needs to be and because of its size and shape it is awkward to work with in tight spaces. The hose storage design causes this thing to be a very odd shape that is difficult to store. I have an older 2.5HP 2 gallon wet/dry vac that is much easier to carry because it is smaller, lighter, and more center balanced. Plus, this Rigid does not have a blower port which I often use to blow off saw dust or whatever. On top of all that, it came with a wall hanger which I rely on to store it. This Rigid does not. So it failed to meet my small, portable wet/dry vac needs and I returned it. But I want to reiterate again how powerful it is. If that is your key requirement and you need this much vacuum capacity in a portable wet/dry vac then this may be the right model for you. Did I mention the $80 price tag??

Rigid is a great brand and we're happy with the two units we purchased. The 4-star rating is due solely to the fact that it does not reverse to blow out dirt from hard to reach places. Otherwise, it's compact, strong, and easy to move from place to place.

Great little vac
As far as the price point goes, I have to agree that it's reasonable for what you get. However, I can see how the shorter power cord and limited suction power can be a bit inconvenient. But if you're looking for a compact and easy-to-use vacuum, then this unit definitely fits the bill. Despite its limitations, the convenience of its size definitely makes up for it. Based on my experience, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a compact vacuum that gets the job done.

Does the job!
I had an earlier model which I had to discard due to the motor screeching at a really high pitch. Suspected a bearing. But, multiple people in our family were using it and were not paying attention to the instructions with regard to vacuuming wet vs.dry material. I believe that was its ultimate demise.
However, it is well designed and does a very good job at vacuuming - particularly when we do our cars (which is our main use). I would definitely recommend the accessory kit to expand its capabilities. I definitely recommend this product.
