We value your feedback. When placing the Rug Gripper on a clean and dry surface, we recommend firmly pressing the strips onto the floor then removing the liner and securing the rug or mat in place.

    Waste of Money
Do not normally write negative reviews of products but in this instance am making an exception. This product is so bad am hoping will help others avoid the frustration. Purchased both the 2-1/2" and 3" wide for a total of $31.64. After following the installation instructions, for additional assurance placed some weight on the edge of the rug to keep it flat. After a couple of hours removed the weight and within a few minutes the rug curled back up. Obviously the tacky side for the carpet doesn't adhere. Going to return whatever is left to Home Depot and hope they will give me my money back. I think rolling up Duct Tape will work better.

      Works as advertised
Works nicely did 30 steps with this roll using 3 strips back to front under each thread. It does not stick the threads firmly but porvides a tacky surface to stop them slipped. Works nice now not sure how it will age.

      Works Well
Yes - this DOES work on carpet over carpet. Living in a carpeted rental apartment, I have a few oriental runners and small rugs to protect heavy traffic areas. Got tired of bending down to straighten them every couple of days as they'd slowly collide with and ride up adjacent walls. This tape seems to do the trick. I doesn't fasten the rug to the floor, it provides just enough traction to keep it from moving around much. The blue backing is easy to remove if you grab a corner of the tape and yank til it stretches and separates. I used a giant lint roller to clean bottom sections of the rug before applying the tape.

For everyone asking if this works on carpet, the answer is YES it does. I just moved to an apartment where I have more carpet than I have had in many many years. With one dog and two cats, I had to do something. I bought several washable throw rugs to put around and of course they were bunching up and were basically death traps. Yesterday I taped them down. I just taped down the perimeters, because I will pick them up and wash them once a month or two. I anticipate using fresh tape each time, which I don't think is a big deal. I tested what comes up with the tape, a little bit of fuzz from the carpet but not bad. Maybe my expectations were lower than the other bad reviews I read, they aren't pulled absolutely smooth, but they stay put and aren't bunching up. I put my yoga mat over the big one and did yoga this morning and the rug stayed put. I'm super pleased with this tape. I did a lot of research and am glad I picked this one.

Easy to use, effective and keeps me from going crazy everytime the carpet corner flips. A friend of mine recommended using painters tape under it when adhering to laminate to avoid leaving a sticky residue. Haven't removed it, but figured I'll share the tip.

          Love this tape
I have stairway treads, hallway runner, Dinning room and living room rugs. I've tried everything with my dog who constantly moves my rugs by running. This product does the job well the rugs stay still and do not budge I would highly recommend this product. I would buy the bigger roll and make sure you use enough to keep the rugs in place.

First time user. Worked perfectly. Need to tape down rug pieces on 32 steps. Had them on 2 weeks now & working perfectly. Need a quick fix and this did it. Taped the rug pieces to a wood step, 32 of them to 2 floors. Exceeded our expectations.

Roberts Rug Gripper was used to keep vinyl floor mats from moving on a carpeted floor. The product helped but the mats still move around with normal foot traffic. The product does not keep the corners of the mats from curling up and creating a tripping hazard. One feature that I do not like is that the product is to be secured first to the floor and then the mat or rug is placed on top. This makes it difficult to position the tape properly. The tape was placed under one mat about one week ago as an experiment. As I said, the Rug Gripper helps somewhat to prevent the doormats from sliding around but this is not a long-term solution. Velcro hooks with an adhesive backing might work better but it doesn't come in the 2-1/2" width and is generally sold along with the loops (which wouldn't be needed for carpet.)

The packaging states that this tape can be used to secure carpets to other carpet. I attempted to use this tape to secure a runner carpet on top of a berber carpet. While the tape secured nicely to the berber, it will not adhere to the underside of the runner carpet. I give it a fair rating due to its inability to secure one carpet on top of another carpet. However, this product would probably work as advertised if securing carpet to a hard surface such as wood or tile. Be aware that removing the blue backing from the double-sided tape can be tedious. I used a dental pic to pull the tape fiber from the blue backing.

            Great Stabilizer for Area Rug!
I have an 8 x 10 area rug over Pergo in my tv area and it constantly moves under the sectional, leaving it look misaligned with the Pergo board lines. Over the past year, we have had to realign the rug many times to prevent it from piling up against the tv stand. This rug gripper a great aid in preventing that slippage going forward. Hopefully I won't be moving the furniture again soon to realign the area rug.

            Effective Solution For Loose Rugs.
Like most other individuals, small area rugs have a tendency to slide around the floor. There are various solutions on the market to prevent rugs from slipping, all with their own strengths and weaknesses. The overall weakness of most of these products is either the gripping power just isn't there, or when dirt and dust accumulates, it weakens the gripping power. I had an opportunity to try out this product on two kitchen rugs. Following the simple directions, I laid down the strips, and positioned the rugs. Overall, I'd have to say these strips actually held the rugs in place. Only time will tell if they remain in their place. One thing I noticed when placing the strips down is it was rather difficult removing the blue plastic film from the topside of each strip. The strip sticks to the floor, and the blue film sticks to the strip so it wasn't the easiest removing this film, but overall, I am pleased with the overall results this product offers.

            Does the job
I've had a problem with my smaller rugs slipping so decided to try Roberts Rug Gripper Anti-Slip Tape. For me, the tape did the job and now we'll have to see how it holds over time. Its two-sided sticky tape with a thin backing layer of poly film that first must be removed by pulling it off. The tape is an open web design that's laid in rows on the bottom of the rug. In using the tape for the first time its important to clean the bottom of the rug of dust and lint. Trying to tape over this stuff will not make for a good bond. Also, clean and dry the floor under the rug is also a good idea. Once down it sticks to both the floor and rug, holds the rug firm. I found if you have to lift it tip up one side of the rug and make sure the strips are still holding onto the rug and not the floor then pull up slowly to re-position the rug. Leaving the tape strips on the floor means you can't clean that area of the floor. Its really a snap.

Yeah, i was looking for this!!
I had a product similar to this years ago, but had trouble finding it again, and yeah, here it is again!! I wanted it because I like to stick down the corners of my large rugs. When you buy those rug grippers that are to size, they cover the whole area except for the edges, well, what always comes up?? Anyway, I use this to put the gripper exactly where I need it. Economical too, because you may not need a full rug gripper like me, my couch sits on one edge, this holds the other edges. I am very pleased with this product.

            Keeps the rug in place
This product does exactly what it is designed to do. You cut multiple strips of the tape and lay it down on the floor where the carpet will be placed. Then you remove the protective blue plastic to expose the other sticky side and place the carpet down on top of it. The product is not super sticky so the carpet will come back up unharmed if you need to move it. It is also not sticky enough to hold down rolled up edges so ensure you carpet is flat before you start the process. Using the multiple strips as directed my carpet does not slide on the tile floor which is wonderful. The tape is a woven type material that is white in color.

I know it is called tape but tape is suppose to stick right. The blue paper is so difficult to get off, I almost gave up. Then the tape would not stick to the rug. It suck to the tile floor but not the rug. I returned it.
