Royobi Repair Service Warranty
I purchased this mower in May and in Sept the blades wouldn’t engage. Since it was past the return date, the company had it picked up by its Service center. It’s been 4 weeks without me being able to mow my lawn because I’m being told they are waiting on a part that failed. 😣😣😣😣

4 year follow up on 30 inch mower - not 42 inch
I’m at 4 years and 80 hours and my batteries are about 80 percent of what they were the first year- and my purchase price was only 2k on sale - only expense is changing blades Important point- these reviews include those from the 30 inch and 42 inch mowers- this is problematic as most of the battery complaints are from the 42 inch model- moderator should fix this

      I should have know better
I bought this 30 inch mower less than 18 month ago. I mow a little less than half an acre once a week. The mower worked like gangbusters for 6 months. Now the batteries are shot and are over 600 dollars to replace. I vented to the service rep and he was polite but I could tell that he had heard these complaints before. Lip service is worthless if you're not going to stand by your product. Now I have seen all of the complaints, cant believe they havent been sued yet, this screams DTPA

Ryobi does not back their product.
While still under warranty we had issues with the charging port. Had to pay $150 to get it picked up to service it. Now, the batteries died just over 2 years. My husband called Ryobi and asked if they could cover the cost of new batteries because the mower was not being charged while it was being serviced. Nope, they will not cover the batteries. Now we are looking at spending $700-800 for replacement batteries that Ryobi said should last you 3-5 years. DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY RYOBI PRODUCT.

The mower comes with lead acid batteries. After 1 1/2 seasons batteries would not hold charge.

            The batteries are JUNK!
I have had this mower for 2 1/2 mowing seasons (purchased in July 21). I already need a 2nd battery replacement. The batteries are a pain to replace. Unlike the larger mowers the batteries don’t slide out, you have to do quite a bit of disassembling to get to the batteries. Ryobi gave me the 1st set replacement batteries even though they were a few months out of warranty. This set will be on me. The current set did not last a whole mowing season. Ryobi knows they have a battery problem.

Mower was flawless, until it wasn't....
Unfortunately, I am joining the list of frustrated customers on here for this product. I purchased this mower in September of 2021 for my new home. After 2 seasons, the batteries have died on me. I am able to run the mower for 15 minutes tops before the mower shuts off. I am working with Ryobi Support to find a resolution. However, I fear that I will need to order new batteries. I am quite disappointed since this mower worked great until now. It's a shame Ryobi doesn't use better batteries.

                Major Problems!
I am on my second season with this mower. It worked well for the first season and this year the batteries would not stay charged. Ryobi sent replacement batteries and here I am 6 months later with the batteries not holding a charge again. There is zero help from Ryobi, I have been waiting for 6 months for a refund for paying to have the batteries replaced in April. I wish I could return this mower as there is no one willing to do warranty work because they refuse to deal with Ryobi. This is the worst mower I have ever owned!

                  Bad batteries
Do not purchase this mower. I have 20 hours of use on this mower. Batteries will not hold a charge. Contacted Ryobi and was told the batteries were on backorder with no idea when I will get them. So now I have a yard that needs mowing and a $2,500 mower sitting in my shed that is worthless.

16 Hours, Battery Bad. Home Depot service worse
Sorry, I would have loved to give this a 5-star rating, but after 2.5 years of use, 1-Star In less than 10 hours & slightly more than 1 year of use, battery charger light on mower would not come on No local Home Depot would service despite Ryobi saying they would. 1-Star for service Found a 3rd-party repair shop that replaced parts to fix the problem under warranty; parts failed in 2 months Now a very modest 16.4 hours of service, I get 5 beeps for bad battery Batteries $$$$ Cannot recommend!

Mower came well packed but bagging kit was not included. Low powered but okay for flat lawns. Manual recommends keeping it plugged in when not actually mowing. You have to press a button to mow in reverse. Not as maneuverable as zero turn machines.

                      Worst purchase I've ever made
It's a great mower right up until it dies completely. A month after the battery warranty expired, so did the 4 50-pound 12v car batteries. Hard to believe that Ryobi didn't know exactly what they were doing here. These batteries are just junk, new ones impossible to find, and suitable replacements - good luck, you're on your own there. If you do find some, that expensive Allstate extended warranty will reimburse you for 1/2 of the nearly $1k cost. And just maybe they'll last longer. Maybe.

                        Beware of battery life
This riding mower was perfect at first. It was able to cut my lawn more than twice on a single charge. However at 20 hours in the battery life has completely changed and cannot even cut half the yard. Unfortunately the warranty for the battery is only 12 months and Ryobi will not replace the batteries under warranty for the mower. The technician stated that it is recommended to replace all four batteries and that costs around $1000. Very expensive for 20 hours of use.

                          Not enough cutting power
Hindsight I would have purchased the next tier of Ryobi mowers. This one has a hard time cutting, especially when driving at a quicker speed. If you don’t slow down to a crawl, the mower misses grass leading Mohawks, or gets bogged down. Does the job, but was hoping for better

                            Battery Issues
Worked well x1 yr. Sent for repair. Need batteries. Purchased 3 yr warranty @ $349, specifically asked about batteries. Now find coverage is 50% reimbursement of $167 ea & need 4. Have not had mower for summer, No ETA for batteries Not happy! Worked well for 1st yr, light in front w/shorter wheel base, less stable on hills. I DO NOT recommend this mower or any that uses lead acid batteries since they don't last & aren't available in a timely fashion! So $3377 to mow lawn for 1 year!!

1 Year Battery Warranty makes this very expensive
This mower works well for small yards. It is a trimmer better than a mower. It keeps well maintained yards manicured. But as many others have mentioned, the battery — even maintained per Ryobi’s instructions — last a little over a year. For me 5/11/22 thru 08/29/23. Battery tech is a pretty exact science these days. The blades are also a one off and only available from ryobi or home depot

                                    Very dangerous lawnmower
When going up a small incline next to our home, the rear tires slipped on some loose ground and then grabbed a hold of some turf after that, the front wheels picked up off the ground, and the lawnmower flipped over on top of me, while the blades were running after I just had a a heart transplant, six months prior to this horrific event. Tried to contact Ryobi Very poor customer service. I was in pain for quite some time after this event. My family is suggesting I should seek legal action.

I have an acre yard with large beds surrounding my property but still too much grass for a push mower so I purchased this mower- love that I can attach my dump wagon to carry mulch etc and save my back. I can mow my entire grass area on one charge; don’t mow if the grass is damp (I have a self propelled mower for long periods of wet grass) That’s why 4 vs 5 stars; also the seat needs a cover!! Gets hot. Ryobi please make seat covers for your mowers
