The rapid chargers were worth the extra money, My husband did not want to wait 3 hours for the batteries to recharge if they ran out before the snow was cleared.. Now, he does not need to worry about getting caught short. The RYOBI snow-thrower is great. Clean, quiet and easy to use.

It works as advertised
Took 1 hour to recharge my fully depleted 6AH battery. It's a little pricy if you buy it alone without a tool but better than waiting 3 to 4 hours for the regular one to charge.

Rapid As Advertised
I received this charger with the RY408100VNM snowblower. I have charged multiple 6 ahr. & 7.5 ahr. batteries with it and the charge times were exactly as specified. The fan cooling helps a bunch also. I have it mounted on a 2 unit wall mount with a shelf.

Just what I needed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had recently purchased a "Leaf Attack" leaf vacuum and mulched. It came with only one battery and the slow (6-8 hour) charger. I definitely needed both another battery and a faster charger to be able to make good use of the tool. This combination was exactly what I needed at a better price than having to purchase them separately.

Ideal to Get the Job Done!

not sure if lousy batteries or charger
Used the slow charger initially then started using this. Not sure if coincidence or cause, but suddenly two less than one year old batteries die quickly.

Got it free with registration of mower.
The slow charger that came packed with the mower took over 4 hours to charge new battery from completely empty. The fast charger is much easier to use. I have never had a problem with all my Ryobi products for the years I've owned them.
