A:  300 watts, so you have to check the amp draw of the saw. multiply it by 120 (voltage) and that will you the watt draw. 2.5amp is max draw.

    by|Nov 26, 2022

A:  I use both Ryobi 40V batteries and plug-compatible 40V 5 Amp hour batteries. Regardless of brand, favor the larger capacity batteries: 200 Watt hours is a bit more than 30 minutes at full 300W.

        A:  Not to my knowledge

Q:Could I run a plug-in electric chainsaw off of this?

          Answer This Question

A:  I don't know about a chainsaw, but I do know our 35" tv will run for at least 3 hrs tailgating before the game. It still had half the power of the battery left.

          by|Nov 17, 2022

A:  I would check the amp output of the power inverter and the amps required to run the chainsaw. I'm guessing that would be no though. It works great for things that have a steady draw off power. Where a chainsaw has a variable draw that depends on how hard you press the chainsaw down into the wood or how hard the woods is, I think you'd fry the power inverter.

A:  Most likely Not. You're chainsaw is likely to be more than 300 watts

                    Answer This Question

A:  It should power a few strings of typical Christmas lights for several hours. Just an estimate. It is not waterproof and would need to be protected from the weather. Working with limited information here, but 12v lights could be a better solution, depending on your needs.

                    by|Nov 14, 2022

A:  Hi Mgriff. Yes, it should power multiple strings of modern mini Christmas lights -- LED (5W/70 bulb string) or incandescent (41W/100 bulb string). A 4Ah batt (144Wh) should run two 70 LED strings for 6+ hours or two 100 incandescent strings for 1+ hour.

A:  Hello, Mgriff - Thank you for your question. If they do not pull more than 300 watts then, yes. I hope this helps! A:  Yes, you should be able to. Just need to be careful of total wattage. It uses a 40v battery, so if you had a 5AH battery you would get a total of 200 watt hours. You could run 200 watts for 1 hour or 1 watt for 200 hours (or anything in between). That would be ideal conditions with no loss in the system so you will actually get less. Home Depot sells a 40ft c7 set (100 bulbs) that says it uses about 10watts, so theoretically it should last about 20 hours with a 5ah battery

A:  It will power a light, it has limited wattage so I would recommend the LED style xmas lights as the draw is much less than incandescent light strings.

A:  Does not require any power cords, you charge your 40V Battery in the normal charger you have. This just converts the DC battery back to AC, and you plug in other AC devices to this with their cords.

                                        Failed after a year
Ive had this for about a year and loved it. It has now failed for no reason. I use this weekly and today attached the battery and it made a crackle then pop sound and turned off. Nothing was even plugged into it yet, no load, no usb, just powered up to get ready to use and it self destructed. This has been used inside, Is clean and has no physical damage. Looks new still. I can see a failure under a heavy load, after a drop, etc. But to burn out for no reason? Makes me cautious to recommend.

W/ the 1800W power inverter/generator, i kno that will power refrigerators. Out of curiosity, i tried this tool w/ only 1 battery on my new refrigerator & it was able to successfully power the appliance. My other refrigerator & freezer, it couldn't bc those appliances are older & draw more power. This refrigerator in the image below is new, & energy efficient. Refrigerator motor sounds normal. Unsure of duration of battery life with this load. 4AH battery in image. Additional testing required

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to be able to use my corded sander, rotary tool and wood burning tool on my patio. This is perfect to plug in and work on my projects where I prefer. Under the patio umbrella. Long battery life keeps me from stopping in the middle of the creative process.

Since I already had the 40 volt battery from something else I previously purchased, this seemed like the most economic purchase for me in terms of inverters, it's only 300 watts but in my opinion it's awesome I actually can use it with my blow dryer as long as I hold the cool button which means it's great for camping etc actually it takes half of the battery just to charge my phone and that's not good but , but it has so many great uses it's very small so it doesn't take up hardly any room, I highly recommend it, the only reason I only gave it four stars is because when you use it it puts off a slight smell of Grease which is not that appealing.

Saved me during a power outage
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a couple of Ryobi yard tools (string trimmer & blower) that use the 40V batteries. I work a remote IT job and had been looking for a battery backup for my laptop so I could work out of my car when we lose power. We have seven children and I am the only income, so it is important that I be able to work. I was walking through Home Depot and saw the power inverter and the lightbulb went on in my head! Why should I buy an extra battery backup solution when I already have the batteries? I bought the power inverter, took it home, and a week later we lost power during my normal work hours. I grabbed the batteries from my Ryobi yard tools and the power inverter and headed off in my car to where I could get good cellular reception. I was able to work a full 8 hours and still had power to spare! Thanks for making your 40V system so flexible Ryobi, you have earned a life long customer.

I use it mostly to run fans in places where I don't want to run an extension cord and to recharge phones. It has also come in handy during a power outage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to power small electronics when power goes out, here in AR just sneeze the wrong way the power would go out. So just a month later after purchasing we had lost power, my 10year old was upset because no internet so I put a 4ah 40v battery in and plugged in 65” TV and cable box for internet and worked great. I had a power strip with overload protection and the 300w inverter handled it without no issues at all, ran TV, cable, internet for 35 mins and only 1 bar was used. So I shut TV off and kept internet going until power came back on, was a total of 1hr 25mins and used 3 bars. Would definitely recommend this Ryobi 300w inverter to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this 40V power inverter to power LED work lights (about 90W at full power) and it does a much better job than the 18V version that would not even last an hour with a 4Ah battery. I wish there were more than just one USB A connector. It is a bit bulky with the 40V batter but it is sturdy on its base. It's great on the go too for emergency use like the night lights for the grand kids when there is no outlet nearby!
