I bought this and returned several times. As a commercial customer, this is not good at all.

Out of box failure. Bought first one at end of season on sale and did not test it rightaway. Opened it up this season, filled with water. Inserted battery, turned knob on side, you can hear pump, nothing would come out!! No kinks in hose. Took handle off hose. Still nothing. Since i bought last year a $149 paperweight. Bought second one online. Repeated the same process, second one did not work. Called Ryobi, did the call back option, 4 hours later I get a call back. All they said was bring it back to the depot. Very disappointed

Wanted to do some roundup this season to take care of the spring weeds but when I started, the nozzle leaked everywhere!! I reinstalled several times, rinsed with water in case debris was caught in there, but nothing worked. Very disappointed in this because I wanted it to work so badly.

No more pulling on the handle to get pressure. Went through 24 gallons battery is still good.

The sprayer works very well. I use it for lots of household functions and it has always performed well.

Great product, but I’m on my 3rd one in 3 years. The hose continues to break where it connects to the tank.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought this today so I’ve only used it one time but it was absolutely effortless! I’m so used to using a pump sprayer that I couldn’t believe how simple this was and wondered why I didn’t do this years ago! The unit is simple to set up, fill with chemicals, use, clean up and store. I probably won’t know how durable it is until I use it for a year or so but it seems very well-made and I had absolutely no issues at all. Also, the fact that it has a three-year limited warranty is a plus! And all my other 18v Ryobi batteries work with this as well. I’d highly recommend this product!

Too much plastic. Wand is all plastic that started leaking at the valve. It was still usable until the want burst at the worst possible time when i had the unit full of dyed chemical. It sprayed all over me! Save your money and buy a better unit.

The first one I got didn’t work. I took it back to get my money back. I thought about it this is the first Ryobi product I had gotten that didn’t work. So I switched it out. Love it. Did the yard in about 30 minutes.

Used it for 2 weeks and cracked. Leak on bottom of tank.

It's a great size for my 1 acre property, much better than the smaller sizes. But to have it leak weed spray everywhere was awful. I'm just glad I tested it before wearing it as a backpack.

Just purchased but seems to work fine.

Hose too short. 3 feet is not enough. Need at least 6 feet, more convenient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently bought this 4 gallon 18v sprayer and already in happy with my purchase. This is a convenient upgrade from my hand pump backpack sprayer. Seems very well built and pressure is very good and consistent.

Love this backpack. Easy to use and makes spraying so easy. I have to say the first one I ordered I couldn’t get the sprayer to work so I had to return it. But the replacement worked great. I highly recommend if you have to do a lot of spraying and don’t want a manual pump sprayer.

Return the unit because the lever had some pin holes in it that leaked when you tried to use it. The box it came in had already been opened, which should have been a red flag. Now I know why it was returned. I pointed this out to the return person, so hopefully the unit was not put back on the rack.

It will work fine for the first tank. When you refill it won't spray! My filter is clear, the wand is clear the motor won't prime. I have bought 7 of these because I'm a glutton for punishment! I keep buying it and returning it for another. The other horrible fact is when you buy it online you get a stupid store credit! It is not available at the store. Then you can't use a store credit to purchase online! STUPID. I called ryobi and waited on hold for FORTY FIVE minutes just to get a jerk that can't help you. I'm too old to use a pump sprayer and I have and acre to spray!

They should use the medal spray wand like their own less expensive sprayers. Also the gallon markers on the side are wrong

This backpack works great, easy to operate, clean and maintain, the battery life is also great and the straps are very durable, Awesome product

I bought this partly to spray fruit trees and could not find any reference to how high it might spray. The first thing I did was to test it with the nozzle adjusted to stream and it will spray over 30 feet straight up with the wand held at shoulder level. Just a gallon of water will not let the pump prime, I had to fill it completely full to get the pump to prime. As noted by other reviewers, the cap threads are very dry, and I sprayed it with silicone spray to make it easier to screw it on without worrying about cross-threading. It is more comfortable than my old Chapin manual backpack sprayer and ten times easier to use. It seems only slightly heavier than the Chapin, although I did not weight them.
