Very good product
I purchased this product to cut branches off a tall tree drooping into my yard and it was the perfect tool i needed. However, it is unwieldy and requires strong arms and back to lift up high so i had my son perform the cutting

    UNBELIEVABLY EASY & EFFICIENT
It took 30 min & approx 25cuts using the RYOBI 9.0 battery 2 take this tree down (approx 18 of those being minor limb cuts: 2”or smaller & 7 cuts ranging from 3”- 7-3/8”) It cut thru that pine like a steak knife thru prime rib w/ no issues even while having it @ full extension! Technically, the only “issue” I had was on the Final Cut of 7-3/8”: I had to manipulate the angle while often cutting “up” from the bottom. It took approx 3min 2make that Final Cut! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS POLE SAW.

Works good while it was alive
I bought this pole saw 11 months ago and used less than 10 times. When I tried to cut a bigger branch around 6", this saw stopped working in the middle of cutting. I changed battery and remove the chain and bar, nothing worked. The motor is dead. I contact Ryobi to report this issue for warranty, 2 weeks passed, no any reply. I guess this is a very light duty tool, and their warranty seems useless.

        Good saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this pole saw as a gift from my wife. Took care of the branches overhanging my fence with no problem.

            Awsomeness
Super impressed!! Definitely worth the buy.. On first use what I achieved would have cost me well over a grand to hire someone to cut.

              Saved the Day!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got hit by a tornado and had significant tree damage. This tool saved me thousands of dollars a tree company would have charged for more minor branch cleanup. No this will not cut through tree trunks but I did not find a job it could not do. I am back in the Ryobi family! Thank you for being a great tool.

                18v Cordless Pole Chainsaw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 8" cordless pole chainsaw this afternoon, took it home, read the owners manual, added Ryobi chain oil, plugged in a 18v Ryobi 4ah battery and proceeded to cut down at least 20 limbs from 1" to 5" in diameter. This tool cut through the limbs like butter with no problems at all. I have been wanting one of these tools for a few years, now that I have it, no more standing on a ladder with a corded sawzall. This was another Ryobi purchase that I am very pleased with and do not know how I have gotten by without for all of these years. Another great Ryobi product, well done!!!

                  Very good pole saw
I give this 4 stars because it goes through bar oil fast, causing saw dust port to need cleaning pretty frequently. Otherwise for the price this thing is very good. Little top heavy (like most electric saws) and sometimes needs a little sawing motion to speed up cuts, but easily and quickly took down 5-6" limbs of hard and soft wood trees. If you need to do an undercut, be prepared for kickback. Instead, I prefer cutting smaller sections 12-18" long for thicker limbs.

                    Love this saw!
Bought this 2 years ago because I had a lot of low tree branches and a lot of shrubs that are overgrown. At the time I was 68 (woman) and afraid of typical chainsaws. This little machine has made my life so much easier, I have cut branches, shrubs, and small trees. It cut through branches like butter. I am now 70 and yesterday I cleaned up a 60ft long row of Althea hedge by myself, see just one of several piles below. My son in law has big chain saw but borrows this. So easy!!

                      works great
Worked out great to trim some large branches. The pole has a good reach and it is pretty stable, the saw is very easy to operate by push button on the handle. We used the extension pole to get to some high branches. The saw cut thru them easily, we cut the largest pieces first with a new sharp blade , then worked down to smaller ones. A replacement chain was around $20 so easier to just replace rather than sharpen it. Paid for itself in a day since the quotes for this work were quite high.

                        Big WI Tree handled
Had a tree go down in my yard--tall one. I'm a 59 year old retiree. I purchased this because I routinely use the weed whip and tire air compressor. I was not disappointed. It helped me cut most of the 50' Aspen's branches. It does however have one annoying flaw---the battery pops out on its own. I also have not found the shoulder strap to be helpful.

Did what it said so far...
Used with the extension pole. 1.3amp battery seriously. I used my 4amp. Not even a baby bottle of bar oil to get me started, seriously I'm 30minutes from nearest HD. Poles seem wimpy not sure how long they will last. My other brand seems stronger. Needless to say it did all the trimming I needed done today and on 1 battery.

                            Pole saw is good but….
So using the pole saw was great until it wasn’t, so the weight of it I assume is what made this split in half same day I got it but why if it’s designed to use as it does would it be splitting in two? Used zip ties to help keep it together to get the job done, than the chain needs constant adjustment as it continuously comes loose having to keep lifting up and down to fix.

No need to climb with this saw
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have allot of trees in our yard and hauling out the ladder trying to steady it on even soil and then trying to saw and stay balanced was getting too much. This pole saw allow me to reach over 10 feet from the ground to trim branches and limbs. The battery lasted throughout the job and the strap helped with the balancing. Fantastic tool and time saver I just wished they designed a spot on the toll to store the adjusting wrench.

Another nice tool, but bar protector is not as pictured.
I've used it to clean up some limbs around the edge of my property and it worked very well. I love it compared to the manual trimmer I had. Time will tell how it stands up to use. The only CON is that they discontinued the nice bar protector with a cheap sleeve that is hard to get on. See picture.

This pole saw exceeded my expectations. Mind you I've only used it one day and I'll update the review if things change, but this thing easily handled an afternoon of cutting branches from my wooded lot up to I'd say 4 inch branches quickly and with no problem. The chain does loosen up periodically like others have said, but it's very easy to use the included tool to re-adjust. The convenience and speed of cut makes this easy to overlook. It also goes through the chain oil, but that's not much a bad thing considering I lost count of the number of branches and small trees I cut using it. What blew me away though was that it only went through 1/2 a 6AH battery. I was guessing it would go through the battery pretty quick, but luckily for the remaining small trees I got tired of cutting before the battery could have a chance to be used up.

                                      Good Pruduct Idea but.......
This pole saw leverages Ryobi's 18V family of batteries and tools. It's a great idea. It will allow you to cut high hanging branches much faster and safer than doing it with a ladder. The 18V provides enough power to cut through limbs as large as 6 inches. With about 30 minutes on the use clock, my expectations were shattered. One of the joints failed as I was un-doing it. See the attached jpeg. At the same time the chain came off the saw. It's easy to replace but I noticed that there is no adjustment for chain length. After 30 minutes of use, the chain had stretched enough such that it will always fall off the static mount. They want you to buy a new chain but this can get expensive. This is going back to HD for a refund. I hope Ryobi improves the product so I can buy it.

                                        DO NOT BUY THIS
I purchased last summer, June 2020 the > ONE+ 18-Volt Cordless String Trimmer/Edger and Blower/Sweeper Combo Kit (2-Tool) - 2.0 Ah Battery and Charger Included. < this isn't to bad. Since I had the battery, I only needed to purchase the "tool" only pole saw. I am a 60 yr old lady and pretty handy doing all my yard work, just wanted the pole saw to help in areas I could not tend to. so the pole saw simply to put together, BUT the stupid chain came off within 5 minutes, put it back on, it came off again, and again , and again. Purchased on 4/3/2021 and it is going back. Skinny branches, and nothing more than 4 inches and the blasted chain pops off. i do not know if I just got a lemon, but not thanks

I really love this tool and I’m a huge Ryobi fan but I’m sincerely disappointed by the strap mechanism breaking within (literally) thirty minutes of use. I hope this isn’t indicative of the quality of the entire tool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this twice now and was able to quickly and efficiently trim my large oak trees. I spent a total of two hours but most of the time was spent on the bundling and clean up. I wish I had purchased this years ago, it cost half of what I was paying to have my trees trimmed so it’s already paid for itself.

                                              does not accept Ryobi battery
PRO: good value at the price i got it for, but probably only for the homeowner that doesn't use this too frequently ($68) battery lasts quite a while (3Ah) has the average set of features CON: lemon/faulty battery connection flexing while using extension pole adding/removing poles takes some time Not sure if I received a lemon or a faulty piece that somehow got past Quality. The battery (Lithium+ HP 18v 3Ah) does not fully seat in the tool. The tool seems to be missing a notch that allows the battery to slide in all the way, meaning that the battery will not clamp into the tool. See images for details. Also included is a separate tool that does have the mentioned notch. I also checked against my other Ryobi tools, which also had notches. Will be checking out customer service/warranty about this. Got it on sale and would consider it an excellent value for the homeowner that needs a pole saw but doesn't use this it too frequently. Works well and as expected, when the battery doesn't slide out. Surprisingly strong for a 18v. Battery lasts a long time while using this. Used to prune 1"-3" diameter Asian pear trees, mostly averaging at 2". Has the normal amount of features and is easy enough to use. Pole extensions take a minute or two to assemble or disassemble, so if you have to switch frequently, know that will take some time. When using the extension, the pole saw did seem to flex. Not sure if it was designed to do so, but probably not. Temporarily stored it laying on the floor with a little bit of oil and noticed a day later that it did leak some. Like other posts say, could empty it out between uses.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a few weeks ago. It seems to work really well. The only problem is that part of one of the connections broke the first time it was used. But it does still work and well. It is a bit flimsy with the extension on it. I'm afraid it's going to break, but with care it's still in one piece. But yes, I'd definitely recommend it.

Bent the chain bar after a few hours of light use
The "bar" the chain goes around is possibly bent after a few hours of light-moderate use. The factory chain tension appeared appropriate, I did not change chain tension. I did not drop the tool nor apply much force to it. The motor is quite strong this could have occurred when a twig became lodged in the chain where it entered the housing. Twigs getting stuck in the chain occurred occasionally. Prior to the part failure I had no other complaints about the tool I thought it was awesome worked great, easy to use. Strong motor.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 3 acres of heavily wooded property and was able to do a lot of work in very little time the day I got it. My dad has some trees that he is growing commercially but is growing older in age. I told him to take it while I was out of town for a couple of weeks and he got a whole lot of work out of it. It was much safer and more efficient than what he had been doing before which made my mom much happier. I'm now in the business of trying to find another deal onthis pole saw so that I can get one again as my dad now has the other one permanently. The 1.5 hour battery does fine for me but he was soon looking for a second battery.
