I returned this because the blade was not strong enough to cut through my St Augustine grass in Texas. I love Fyobi and exchanges this for the Ryobi trimmer with 0.80 string. It seems to do the work but is a bit heavy for me. Mind you I am a 79 year old granny. No questions asked when I returned to Home Depot with my receipt and product during the return period.

Love this edger but battery life is horrible.20 minutes max had to buy a couple more batteries just to finish the job

Battery capacity was disappointing, was only able to edge about 25 percent of my yard.

Battery would not stay charged for long! We had to keep stopping to recharge it. It could do the job but the battery dieing is an issue.

Battery life was very short. I’m trying a large amp hour battery before giving up on unit. On the positive side, the unit cuts well when unit runs.

i tried it briefly just once and was not impressed. it jumped around and threw dirt everywhere- i don’t know if that is what it is suppose to do, this is my first experience with an edger. funny thing is that the box contained a dirty, muddy used ryobi edger. i had to return this to home depot and exchange it for a new, unused one.i have a ryobi lawn mower, drill, leaf blower & weed trimmer which all work well for me.

Not quite what I expected

The cordless Battery was easy to assemble and lightweight. I liked the long life of the battery.

First thing I noticed in this was 2.0 Ah battery. That is useless. The common ones for the tools like drill, circular saw, recip saw, etc., are 3.0 Ah which is decent for the tool. I have both 3.0 Ah and 6.0 Ah Ryobi One+ batteries, both will run the edger but for better performance I used my 6.0 Ah battery. I did about 300' with the edger, and I then used the battery on the Ryobi grass shears - only used one bar of 4 of the battery. Use the right battery for the task.

Did what is supposed to do easily

Our son has this edger, my husband borrowed it and loved it. We owe one now. Great product!

Even after charging for 24 hours, the battery only lasted 10 minutes at best

The interchangeable tools are great. I purchased the edger along with a new string trimmer. I can't say enough about how happy I am with the performance of the tool. Edging along the driveway and road are a breeze with this. I highly recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this to begin edging a lawn that was previously edged by a string trimmer. This unit has cut a clean edge on our lawn for the first time in years. It required some prep to get the edge clean enough to use this new tool, and now edging is quick and easy.

Much better on St Augustine grass than the first Ryobi Edger with string that does not get the job done at all.
