The packaging and quality of Rheem is just crap. Will nwver buy another one again.

Installation was fairly straightforward. Powered on after filling it up and it's working as it should. Time will tell how long it lasts, but so far there have been no leaks or issues.

I have 2 of these Rheem 40-gallon 9-year warranty water heaters in my house. The first one was installed about 15 months ago and works perfectly. This one was just installed to replace a 1-year-old 30-gallon 6-year warranty Rheem that "prematurely" rusted out. I can only assume that inferior parts are used in the 6-year warranty heaters, since this was the second one in a row that failed way too early. Since I could not find a 30 gallon with a warranty over 6 years, I went with this 40 gallon. I am sincerely hoping that this new one works as well as the one installed 15 months ago---------no sign of rust in that one when I do my monthly sediment drain. I will say one thing for Rheem: After having problems with several water heaters in the past that were still under factory warranty, Rheem has always stood behind their products and authorized a return /refund for the defective units.

I purchased this water heater 3 days ago. I installed it myself and my connections are perfect. The manufacturer did not include gasket or O-ring for the top element. So when it was filled with cold water before giving it power it literally poured water out of my tanks top element and got water in the basement. I removed the top element to confirm and there was no ring. And rheem’s response to this has been terrible. You can’t release product to consumers like this. QC???

HD WAS GREAT. RHEEM heater had factory leak causing me to do a service recall, costing me undue expense on a return visit and repair.

So so BAD, ordered 4 hot water tanks from Rheem, 4 came in damaged. Am without water for 3 weeks..HOME DEPOT don't CARE..

This water heater is more than I expected. The control I have via Wi-Fi enables me to control the water temp, see the water level and best of all...send an alarm to my phone! Customer service was unbelievable when the alarm went off just 24 hours after installation! The associate knew exactly how to correct the alarm and we've had no trouble since.

thes tanks need to be a little smaller like the the GE ones that Home depot use to sell

I have ordered water heater and it came unboxed and damaged Replacement came the same way. Damaged It happened 4 times in a row 4 water heaters came damaged!

I ordered two and both showed up so dented and beat up I had to return. Will never order from Home Depot again. After a 2 week wait we went to the plumbing store and came home with a new one the next day.

Easy to install and so much insulation that my water bill should be much lower.

I'm not sure what to review here. Does it produce hot water? Yes. Will it save us money compared to old one? Likely but the jury is still out on it. It is very quiet.

It had to big dents when I took out of Box

Had to reinstall heating element and thermometer twice within 3 years. Hot water only last about 5-10 mintues. Only solution we found was to turn the thermometer up to 150 degrees which makes the hot water last 10 mintues. This product at least for me is pathetic

So far this new water heater has been excellent a family of 5 keeping it busy but always having hot water is great!
