This kit was an exact match for my existing hot water heater.

Wrong part in box labeled correctly. Items like this need to be stocked in stores not special order. I have waited a week for this to ship and be delivered and finally does and wrong. So frustrating. Will return it tonight and already ordered directly from rheem and paid double but hopefully it works

I purchased this for my Rheem Model No. XG40S06EC34U0 gas hot water heater. The problem was the pilot light would not stay lit when trying to ignite it with the push button. Once the part arrived I had it installed in about 10 minutes. The kit comes with a new gasket, which you will need . Be sure to scrape all the old gasket off both pieces to get a good seal with the new gasket.

Got as a back up for Rheem water heater. Won't know how it works until it's installed. Does not seem to be stocked in stores. Don't want to be without hot water because pilot won't stay lit.

The instructions were difficult to follow due to the pictures being too small. It relocates the thermopile and pilot to the burner. All in all worked fine once I figured out the brackets and angle.

This replacement part fit my water heater perfectly and the gasket material was greatly improved over the original one. This new gasket protects the original small orange rubber seal that is constantly exposed to the heat every time the gas water heater fires up. The old orange rubber seal on my water heater dried out and wasn't sealing properly so occasionally I was able to smell a light odor of natural gas. I would recommend this product if you are having any kind of leaking fumes or if the thermopile goes out as you can't change just the thermopile alone with creating a non seal condition around the small orange rubber seal. I am happy with this kit. The only problem with this kit is you can't just go to your Home Depot and pick it up because they don't stock it and you must mail order it. This is sad because who wants to go without hot water for 3 or 4 days. Especially in the winter months....burrrrrr.

I was able to get this kit to work. It looked exactly the same as my application but when installing the mounting bracket differed slightly so I had to modify the bracket to fit. Other than that it’s a nice kit with everything you need.
