Its exactly what you think it is. The handles and sides are very sturdy.

The lid is difficult to remove. Hopefully with time it will become easier to remove. Size is exactly what I was looking for to put on my back porch.

Perfect size for our basement workshop/laundry room/storage area. Holds a regular trash bag is sturdy, sturdy. This replaced a thin simplehuman can that wobbled around when you opened it (uneven, unfinished basement floor mostly to blame) and wasn’t wide enough for the dustpan.

Great garbage can. I use it in my garage. Perfect size doesn't take up too much space and compact. Definitely recommend.

As others have noted, often top is difficult to remove. In my case, top became warped in the sun and no longer fits. Good news is Rubbermaid has promised it would send a replacement lid.

Thick heavy duty material and lid that snaps on quite strongly keeps raccoons and other small to medium animals out. Easy for a person to get open/closed with two hands if you press down on the lid center and bend the lid edge back slightly at the lid handle; otherwise can seem like an impossible task.

This is extremely well made, only issue is that it closes so tightly it is actually very difficult to open.

My only complaint is the top is too hard to open. But I suppose that’ll ease up with repeated openings. Otherwise it’s perfect, heavy duty.

I ordered this trash can to use for storing dog food in my house. It took about a week and a half to make it to the store after I ordered it. Once I picked the product up and got it home I opened the box and there was not lid. I called customer support up. They were helpful in that they set me up to send me a replacement order. I waited another week and a half for the second one to show up, and when I went to pick it up I had the home depot associate open up the box to see if there was a lid in it, and there was not. At which point I asked them to just refund my money.

The can is about the right size for me. I fill two 10 gallon plastic HDX bags every week. The only complaint I have is if the bag were taller it could reach the top of the trash can when full, and be easier to tie up.
