Works great. You have to know how to paint
Glows great, you have to keep adding layers and layers. Shaking the can every 15 seconds It’s not like normal spray paint where you do a few smooth coats. I wasted all my spray can in these letters and they glow real well. If you buy your kids a black UV flash light, sleep time can be fun because they can “paint” the glow in the dark paint and make it really glow intensely.

Works really well after several applications
Works really well if you apply several coats (I applied 3 coats) and the surface you are painting is non porous/sealed first. Really happy with the results.

      It’s cool
We painted some pumpkins with this paint and it worked very good. With the last bit of the can I was able to paint my Tiki. The Tiki turned out great. You do have to charge it up with a light for a minute to really get it going. Pretty expensive can of paint, but it’s cool.

        It works
Of course i read the reviews after i bought it. Well it glows like it should and I am good with how it turned out. You make your own call off the picture. 5 stars will come once it dries

          Glows just fine
I love this paint for my pots. Just like any glow-in-the-dark products, they must be charged with light in order to see any glow.

              This paint works great...
This paint works great, if you understand how spray paint works, and realize an aerosol spray paint won't hold a charge for hours on end. Several light coats of this paint instead of dumping an entire can straight onto a project will work MANY times better. After charging under a bright light, this paint results in an amazing glow for about 10-15 minutes. Don't expect it to glow for hours, but it worked far better than I expected after reading the other reviews here.

                Read direction correctly.. it works!!!
Anyone who says it doesn't work. Your not applying it right. Read the direction. What I did was purchase the Rustoleum white paint and primer in one for the base color..3 coats wait about 20 minutes to apply each coat of white primer.. Then spray 5 coats of Glow.. again wait 20 minutes in between coats. Then if you want for a final finish.. throw 2 coats of Rustoleum clear gloss and your all set and finished. It won't glow in the dark if you apply 1 coat of glow and it's has to have a white base primer for the first coat. It won't work with any dark base color just a white. It may take a few hours till the product is actually finished just because the amount of coats you have to apply. Trust me it works. It's doesn't glow for 4 to 8 hours but it's actually glows for maybe 20 minutes to half hour. If you have a blacklight it will just stay glowing till you shut the light off.. Then again it will glow for 20 to 30 minutes and then it fades away.

                  Glowing good time!
I made a clock and used this on the glass stones I used for the numbers. Works well. I want to try it on other projects. Works best if a light color is behind it. On my project I use silver on the back of the stones after I paint them in the glow in the dark spray. Then I sealed them in clear.

                  Clear spray !
I was surprised and pleased to see that this paint is clear and thus simply adds a glow in the dark layer to whatever you spray it onto. Application is as simple as one would expect from any aerosol application. I sprayed it on the following: kayaks, kayak paddles, fire lighters, light switch covers. It works, if the items get well charged up, and I am sure the more coats one applies the better the glow would be. There is a 'matte' feel to the items after it dries.

Product is as pathetic as Co’s response
This is the worst spray paint on the market, it’s shameful HD continues to carry it and that Rust Oleum continues to make it. Spray doesn’t work. Glow in the dark is a straight up lie. Just a total waste of time & money. Watch! Right below will be Rust Oleum’s canned, auto generated ‘response’ which some marketing person thought would be a good idea. Here this, a GOOD IDEA would be to make a decent product! Unique concept! DO NOT BUY THIS! BELIEVE THE 99% REVIEWS THAT IT IS 100% GARBAGE!

Oh no, we're sorry to hear about your poor experience with Rust-Oleum Specialty Glow In The Dark Spray Paint. For the paint to have its glow in the dark effect it must be applied over a white or light surface and be charged using natural or artificial light. The low rating is a result of my lack of understanding what the product was intended for. It may work very well in bright daylight as that is the 're-charging' path. In a dimly lit garage, even with the door open, does not work very well. My error.

The green owl on the front was a bit misleading. Be sure to also buy a can of green paint if you want your object to actually be green.

                    Response from Rust-OleumSupportOct 25, 2023
We appreciate you sharing your experience. For the best results, Rust-Oleum Specialty Glow in the Dark Spray Paint needs to be applied to a light or white surface. It is highly recommended to prime the object with a white primer if it is darker color. The darker the object is, the less likely the object will glow in the dark. The product also needs to dry completely and charge under direct light for 2–3 hours for maximum glow. The painted object can be charged in natural or artificial light. The closer, more direct, and more consistent the strength of the light is, the better the object will glow. Any shadows, blockage of light, or inconsistency of light during charging (i.e. gradual sunset) will affect the objects' ability to glow. The object can glow up to 8 hours under ideal conditions. Please note that the glow will continue to fade over time and will not be as strong as it was immediately after charging.

I used this paint on non-skid strips on my deck stairs. It doesn't really 'glow in the dark' as expected. I did paint the strips white first (as mentioned in other reviews), but I still didn't get the glow I was hoping for.

Thank you for sharing your experience using our Rust-Oleum Specialty Glow in the Dark Spray Paint. This coating glows best over white and light colors, and when several coats are applied. Applying additional coats will increase the glowing capacity, though the coating does need to charge from a light source to be able to glow. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2 Rustoleum

If there were zero stars, I would choose that. It was expensive and did absolutely nothing, no glow at all, not in the dark, by spotlight, flashlight, headlight or candle light. Do not buy this!

Oh no, this is not what we like to hear! When using Rust-Oleum Specialty Glow In The Dark Paint, be sure to apply it over a white or light colored surface. After vigorously shaking for at least one minute once the mixing ball begins to rattle, hold the can 10-16” from the surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply 2 or more coats a few minutes apart for the best coverage and effect. Make sure to charge the painted surface in natural or artificial light for 2–3 hours for maximum glow. Following this should result in an excellent glow that lasts 4–8 hours.
