I bought this model and the matching door handle set in 2018 as a replacement for door set that was on the house when we purchased it. The only drawback to this unit, is that when the battery gets low, the locking mechanism begins to not work so well, hence you may need the key. Other than that, this product is wonderful and works well. Plus, I love the ability to add and delete passcodes when we have guests.

Opted to go with the Encode for our new front door. We loved the look of the Camelot series in Oil Rubbed Bronze, and decided to go electronic on the deadbolt for several reasons. Installation was very easy for me, and programming the device with the iPhone App went very smoothly. We are very pleased with our purchase this far. My only unknown is how long battery life will be, as that seems to be mentioned in several reviews

We installed this lock on our back door a couple years ago. The first one we had started having problems within a couple months. After replacing the batteries and resetting the lock, it would suddenly stop working a couple weeks later. After a few rounds, we determined that the lock was somehow shorting out the batteries. Schlage told us to return the unit for a new one. I was thankful for good customer service in this instance, and the new lock has operated properly ever since. We absolutely love having the keypad entry on the door. We are having home renovations done right now, and in less than 5 minutes, I was able to create a code for my contractor, which I can later delete after our project is done. My teenagers like not fumbling with their keys when they get home after dark. We have set the lock to automatically engage after 30 seconds, so I never have to worry if the same teenagers forget to lock the door behind them. I have not yet had to change the batteries again, so that is also a positive point. The negative as of now is that the finish on the outdoor side of the lock, along with the matching Schlage door handle we bought at the same time, looks absolutely awful after two years. We have the aged bronze finish, and it looks 95 years old, and not in a charming vintage sort of way. Some areas are peeling, other areas just look dull or corroded. We will be replacing it soon with a different finish, and possibly a different brand, to hopefully get more than two years of life out of the lock and handle. I can recommend the lock but I would avoid the bronze finish.

The lock looks very nice and modern. My only issue with the lock is that I had a hard time connecting it to wifi. After doing much some research I found out that the lock is unable to connect to mesh wifi. The lock is Unable to tell the difference between the 2.4ghz/5ghz You think for a $250 lock it would have no issues with that. My dogs camera is only $25 and has no issue connecting to a mesh wifi. So luckily I had a wifi extender sitting around and used that to create a 2.4ghz connection allowing the lock to connect to the extender. Other than that the lock works great and looks good.

This smart WiFi Schlage door lock is built with security in mind. It’s easy to understand and to use. The lock seems to be built tough. I love the way it looks and operates and the finish seems to be very durable!

I purchased the Encode to replace my original Schlage deadbolt. The Encode is a smaller form factor compared to the deadbolt on the outside. I needed to use touch-up paint to cover some spots. I am not a DIYer, and the installation of the Encode was easy. I watched many YouTube videos to prepare for the installation. I like the capability of remotely locking and unlocking the door, tracking usage, and the ability to use a key to lock/unlock the door. One of my concerns was the inability to get into the house when there is a power outage. The Encode solves this issue. The Encode comes in a different color so if it matters, make sure you match the unit with the other hardware on your door. The only issue I had was that during the initial setup, the lock's lever did not turn all the way over to the right to lock the door. I called their support on a Saturday afternoon, and they noted that the lock needs to go through its setup process first before the lock can be used. So do not worry if the lever doesn't lock the door on the initial setup. Also, having the ability to call support on a Saturday was great, and the person was patient with my questions. I have been using this lock for a few weeks, and it is my first WiFi capable lock. I would recommend this lock.

This lock is great. Very easy to install, easy to get connected via the app. Works awesome. I am a little concerned with how long the battery will last but it has a status in the app so you don't get surprised. I love the ability to use my phone and also assign a lot of different codes with different access times or permissions. Great lock, great price, very happy! Highly recommend.

Paid extra for the name, however the lock stopped working consistantly within 6 mos of installation. The lock cylinder spins in the lever, and doesn’t always engage the deadbolt so the key must be used....very frustrating!

We have had this brand for about 10 years And we just changed it to this WiFi since we wanted to upgrade If it weren’t for that we would have still have the other one in our front door Súper durable and reliable

Good quality lock. The locking mechanism sound is soft, its not as loud as other locks that I have experienced. I really like the wifi function which notifies you the lock status.

I recently purchased the Schlage Camelot Encode Wifi Lock. It shipped quickly and came without any damage. The install was pretty straight-forward, although I had to cut a small piece of the door window trim away in order for the lock to fit width wise. The app is very easy to set-up/use and I have been pleased with the functionality thus far.

This lock is the second one I've installed by myself on a rental property I own. SO easy to install, easy to use. The app is simple and functions well. The lock itself looks great and functions well. My renters of every age love it. Some have gone home and installed the lock on their own residence. No experience with other digital locks. Why bother, I already have the best one...

Overall works well and easy to install. The smart part of it was an education with z wave communications. Not a WiFi product. Had to buy additional z wave hub to get functions I wanted.

I really like this product. It was easy to install and works very well with the app. Great addition to my home. It would be nice if Google home works with it. Right now Google Home only locks the door, unlike Alexa that's both opens and locks the door.

The lock was very easy to install. We connected the app to WiFi. It has been working without any problem. We like the feature automatic locking after a set time. Before we always worry about whether the door is locked or unlocked, now we can check the app to know the status of the lock. The only thing that Schlage can improve by adding a sensor to lock the door only when the door is closed. Right now if the door is open to the set time, the lock is activated.

Beat all expectations. The only annoying issue is you can use two different apps to run it. Amazon Key or Schlage. The price is pretty steep, but if you have different people in and out of your residence, this is the lock to get.

I bought two of these (this one at the store and the rectangular one online). I installed one as instructed; and all, including WiFi hookup, worked without a hitch. I needed to adapt the second one to our $950 lockset. The issue I faced was that this device uses a horizontal lock tailpiece. My door uses a vertical tailpiece. This lock will not work correctly without a horizontal tailpiece configuration. To resolve my issue, I disassembled by lockset, cut a horizontal tailpiece receiver slot, reassembled my lockset, and installed this device. It works as advertised.

Love it ! Don’t worry about misplaying keys in and out the house! Don’t worry about forgetting locking the door yet or not. Look and feel nice on the door and everyone is happy with their own codes to track who out and in the house at anytime.

Very sharp appearance . Goes well with our slightly modern design. Easy to install and program. Great for multiple guests using the door. Short term guest codes, just delete them. No more "hide a key".

The one thing you need to understand. This is a deadbolt lock. I bought a matching handle (matches the lock) for my front door. We have had zero issues with it in 5 years. works great. I don't like fumbling for my keys eech time I an leaving or coming home. It's nice for my kids too. No key needed. Yes, I recommend it.

I bought this after my daughter was locked out of the house one day because she forgot her key. We have a spare key in a lock box but she wasn't aware of it. I thought by using this we could avoid copying keys for relatives. I ran into multiple issues during the install which were not addressed in the manual. I wish I had the time to read all of the reviews here online before making a purchase. I would have saved a lot of time. Overall I'm happy with the product but I wish the installation process was easier. I like the color as it matches the doorknob and the wooden door and trim. Overall this took three days of on/off work and four trips to Home Depot. 1. Had to make the hole bigger. The original hole was 1 1/2" in diameter. I had to go back to the store to get a 2 1/8" hole saw drill bit. 2. Had to find a YouTube video to figure out how to use the key with the lock. Nothing in the directions about the key operation. 3. Only one of my keys would work with the lock. I had the lock re-keyed to match my other Schlage locks and I realized I used a copy of a key. That copy would work in this lock and my other locks. The other keys I had wouldn't work in this lock. I had to have the lock re-keyed a second time with an original key. 4. Home Depot only had one person who could re-key these locks. I waited an hour for him to arrive to help me. I had him make me multiple keys and tested all of them when I got home in this lock and my existing locks. I recycled the copies. 5. After getting the lock installed I tried to close the door and found the twist handle was hitting the handle for the storm door because the handles stuck out too far. I had to rotate the storm door handle 90 degrees so the house door would close properly.

I like the push button entry. It makes it easy to get into the house, especially at night. It gives me a sense of security.
