One of my biggest complaints when using PEX tubing is getting it apart. Sometimes it feels like I need three hands to accomplish my task. The SharkBite 1/2 in., 3/4 in. and 1 in. PVC IPS Disconnect Clip (3-Pack) eliminates this problem. Who knew that something so simple could be such a useful tool. The tool slides over the pipe and when pushed against the connection collar, provides the equally distributed pressure needed to remove the pipe. The frustration I've experienced in the past is over. There is also the added benefit of a depth gauge on each tool so you can mark your pipe and know you have it completely inserted in the fitting. Great price on a really helpful tool; highly recommended.

Terrible fit. Super loose. I had to use the 3/4 inch size to release a 1 inch fitting.

This item doesn't work well on shark bite pipe. Too weak to pull the pipe out.

Removing a shark bite can be very hard these help very much.

Easy to take off the connections and change the length of pipe used. Great product.

They Don't Fit! The set I received doesn't work! The openings in the plastic are too large and slip right over the disconnect rings on the SharkBite connectors I tried them on.

When you need them you need them! I like the small compact design because it takes up so little space in my toolbox. They are a fast and efficient way to decouple pex, pvc,copper,or any style pipe from the push to fit connectors. Keeping abreast of the newest innovations in plumbing and pipe fitting is a must in today's fast pace competitive market.

These clips are designed for removing (and assistance with installing) Shark Bite fittings from PVC pipe (other piping materials have different dimensions in spite of having the same size ratings such as 1/2, 3/4, 1" etc.) Also because of the comparatively light weight of PVC pipe it is more difficult to tell if the pipe has been inserted fully into the fittings which if not, could lead to failure of the connection. These clips are designed with a "depth marking" feature for assistance in determining if the pipe has been inserted fully. Good idea to add these to your plumbing arsenal.

This is one of those products that yes, you can get by without, but by having them your life will be much simpler and more productive. They have one very simple use - removing sharkbite and similar types of pvc connectors. They are very easy to use - just turn your water pressure off, then slide them up to the connector, pressing the disconnect clip up and the sharkbite will simply slide off. They are made of durable pvc and should last for years of projects. Note that the directions on the package are extremely small and basically illegible. The drawings show you all you need to know though, if you have never used one.

I use a lot of Sharkbite connectors, mostly caps and straight connectors, on my jobs. Almost all of the time the pipes I use them on are for domestic water and heating both 1/2” and 3/4” copper. These same disconnect clips can also be purchased for copper pipes and that is where I have experience in their use. When these disconnect clips for PVC pipes became available I decided it would be good to add them to my tool box. The ones for copper pipes work well and I expect these to work just as well. You simply snap them over the pipe and while pressing on the connector pull the clip toward the connector to push the plastic release collar back into the Sharkbite. This will retract the stainless steel fingers inside the connector away from the pipe and, while keeping pressure on the clip, allow the Sharkbite to be slipped off the pipe. It may take a little practice to get the right amount of pressure on the release collar but you will get the hang of it quickly. Much easier than trying to use a vicelocks for this purpose.

Dropped one star because the instructions are impossible to read (if you are into reading instructions). Other than that 5 stars all the way! The 1/2 IN., 3/4 IN. AND 1 IN. PVC IPS DISCONNECT CLIP (3-PACK) by SharkBite doubles as a depth gauge which I didn't realize I needed until I had one. With the depth gauge I don't need to disconnect as many connections as I used to. Very handy, easy to use and cost effective.

I gave this 4 out of 5 stars because the instructions are difficult to read, but once you figure it out you are good to go. We've been happy with all of our shark-bite products. But marking the pipe has been somewhat challenging and we have never been able to easily get them disconnected to re-cut if needed. I got this product for that purpose, but the marking tool worked so well this time we didn't have to redo anything. So I can't fully vouch for the disconnect portion - my rating is based on using the tool reduced my need for the second function of the tool.

SUMMARY: A welcome addition to my plumbing toolbox. BACKGROUND: I am doing some Sharkbite work and having the proper tools to remove their fittings is essential for a hassle-free job. The chance to get a set of PVS IPS disconnect tools was too good to pass up. FIT AND FINISH: These are simple tools and the look just like they do on the picture, white plastic. They feel pretty good. OPERATION: As with all Sharkbite press on fittings the tool is clipped around the pipe with the side with the writing embossed on it away from the fitting. Slide the clip down until it depressed the ring on the fitting. Wiggle, twist, and pull, and the fitting will slide off the pipe. Please note, these clips are for PVC IPS (Iron Pipe Size) fittings. They are not designed for and WILL NOT work on Pex fittings. SUMMARY: If you work with Sharkbite PVC fitting in iron pipe sizes these clips are a handy addition to your tool bag.

If you are using Shark Bite fittings and valves these are a must, make it so easy to remove any fitting and valves without damage so you can reuse them. They also serve as an depth gauge when inserting COPPER PEX and CPVC pipe into the fittings or valves to know your seating it properly, and the price is really cheep. I let somebody use my last set and didn't get them back just cant remember who. Shark Bite is a great way for the average person to make fast and safe repairs to there home and that's a good thing.

I had the little orange disconnect clips in 1/2 in., 3/4 in and 1 in. and they were difficult for me to use. I saw this package with all three disconnect clips and I decided to give them a try. I am very glad that I did. I have used the 1/2 in. and 3/4 in. clips and the work much better. You have a larger service area to grip. This gives a much be leverage. I wish I had seen this 3 pack before. I do have some loaners now though.

Odd tool, not clearly described, bad instructions! I love SharkBite fittings for copper and PEX connections. I also have the orange SB tools for dis-connecting the SB fittings. These white tools do not fit the common copper/PEX ("CTS") fittings. The instructions printed on the bag are NOT readable. Much too small!! Even with a 5X magnifier, they are just dots. Who printed this?? There are no instructions posted on Home Depot or on SharkBite's site. After too much searching, I discovered that SharkBite also makes a range of fittings for the larger PVC pipes, what used to be Iron Pipe sizes. Neat! But not readily available. And will be confused for the CTS fittings and tools. So I can't try this. By inspection, it should disengage the fitting same as the orange clips do, except on the IPS size fittings. Hold it sideways in the groove, you can mark depth just like the other orange tool does for the CTS fittings. There is also a notch on the side, which probably does something for me, but until I can read some instructions I do not know what.
