Great for connecting to threaded pipe and adding PEX. Used this to create thermal break in spigot water line. Allowed me to easily convert from threaded copper to PEX without calling a plumber.

I have found the various SharkBite fittings to be really easy to use. I have now done two projects with them that involved connecting copper to copper, copper to PEX, and PEX to PEX. The SharkBite fittings can handle all of these combinations. They are expensive but they are worth it.

I used this Shark Bite to connect a new pipe and faucet I had to install. The Shark Bite made the connection of the new pipe to the old copper pipe easy. The Shark Bite screwed right on the new pipe and then it was just a little push of the old copper pipe into the Shark Bite and the whole job was finished. No messy soldering. No fire risk from using a torch. This was the first time I ever used a Shark Bite. The whole job only took about an hour from old pipe removal to finished new pipe installed. Thank you.

I had bought a plastic off brand last year for my copper connection for my shower. When I replaced the shower it broke getting it off, this shark bite went on easy, no leaks and won't break. I love it.

SharkBites are life savers!! I seriously should never take on any plumbing job... and yet on occasion I forget, and think it might be a good idea. Hahaha! Replacing a shower handle unit... involved working in a small hole in the wall behind my shower...what was I thinking?? There is no way I would have been able to finish this job without SharkBites!! The project would have involved knocking a huge hole in my living room wall to solder this together!! Instead, I cleaned the old copper piping, pushed the SharkBites in to place....and done!! Whew!! Perfect seal! No leaks! What a relief!! If I break down and try another plumbing project in the future, I am making sure I have SharkBites ready to help me complete my job with no leaks.

This is the second sharkbite that fails. A handyman did the first install and I did the second. The rim cracked in 2 places. The pipes and faucets that you use it on have to be in plain view at all times. I would never trust it on pipes located behind a drywall. Initially I felt that sharkbite was the way to go because it can save $$ hundreds on plumber's bills as well as overall ease to connect any pipes, faucets, gadgets etc. That may still be the case, provided the part is quality made, and rim stays intact. With this item you can't just install and forget. It may flood your property. Lasted me 6 months and it did not meet my expectations for a quality product.

      pure trash
Im on my third drywall repair now. The people that previously renovated the house loved these. They loved to put them in the wall. These are good for a couple years, then the o-ring dries out and the leaks start. They are made so an ignorant person can throw together a house to flip and pass the problem on to someone else.

It worked great! I had to heat the 1/2" plastic PEX tube, with a hair dryer, in order to create a slight bend so each end would be perpendicular to each SharkBite brass connector and flexable enought to seat 1" into each connector. The PEX is ridget in short lengths and heating the complete length of the PEX made it easy to custom fit the PEX into two rigid galvanized pipes. Please Note, you need to keep in mind, the lenght of the PEX has to include 1" recess into each SharkBite connector and the slight added length to compensate for the bend. The advantage of the SharkBite system is that it can be easily removed, if future modifacations are needed to my Tub/Shower unit.

Had to replace the shower water valve, changed from soldered copper to modern plumbing. This connection provided connection at the top of the valve body to the shower head and was super easy to put in. Leak testing went better than I expected and I expect it to serve well.

This review is for the Shark Bite push to connect 1/2 inch adapter which (female thread) that can allow you to quickly adapt from a galvanized pipe or any other standard 1/2 pipe with a male threaded end. Whether your a DIYer like myself or a pro (as I was, I'm retired) Shark Bit push to connect fittings allow for quick repairs and whole house plumbing. They can be adapted to any existing water supply or used to re-plumb an entire job. Shark Bite fittings are approved for all plumbing requirements, tested to 200 PSI and are temperature tolerant to 200 degrees F. The fitting shown here (as mentioned above) will adapt to a 1/2 threaded male end and slides onto PEX (pecs), PVC or copper pipe (1/2 inch shown). Shark Bite can be used for a permanent or temporary repair since they can be removed (and re-used) with the application of a release tool. Shark Bite offers a variety of release tool that are inexpensive and effective. I've seen You Tube videos (there's several) that both show the versatility of Shark Bite fittings as well as alternative ways of releasing them. But for the benefit of ease, cost and other features, I've opted for the Shark Bite brand tools. One of those advantages is the particular tool I show has a depth gauge. It's used so the installer can measure and mark the pipe to be pushed for depth and insure no leaks or that the pipe can't slip out. Typically if you've used Shark Bite fittings before, are able to feel when the pipe has seated properly. Copper pipe is readily easy to sense but PEX is a bit harder to tell. Therefore I mark the pipe with a sharpee at the depth gauge. When the mark is even with the end of the fitting it's seated. Copper pipe should be free of burs and it's recommended that it's cleaned as you would prior to soldering. Another suggestion is to avoid performing solder joints near a Shark Bite fitting as the excessive heat could cause a failure of the Shark Bite fitting.

        Nothing short of miraculous
I was replacing a 4 way shower diverter and did not want to solder. I cut the 1/2 copper pipes square, de-burred them with the sharkbite tool, added Teflon tape to the threads and popped them on. It was a tight spot, so had to modify the de-burr tool slightly so that it would rotate in the limited space (I cut the tool leaving just the 1/2 inch end). One challenge was that the hot and cold pipes (left and right) were fixed, so there was no room to get the last sharkbite connection on (see pic). No worries, sharkbite has a two inch slip coupling that did the job. I cut out a 3 inch section of pipe, shortened this to 2 inches and put this on the non-slip end of the slip coupler and slipped it on which left enough space to get the last connector in. Attached the last sharkbite to other end of my 2" pipe on the slip connector, pulled it onto the cold water thread with the tool provided and tightened. Voilà! Before I turned on the water to test the pressure I was doubtful it would hold. The connectors spin on the pipe when you tighten them! What!? I was dumbfounded, not a drop! All connections were tight and the diverter is firmly held in place. Amazing product! A miracle indeed. We've used the shower for a week and still no leaks.

Great to put in, very very hard to take out
Goes in very easy with no leaks, no open flame and minimal pipe prep. Problem is when you try and take them out they just do not want to come out. Dry fit my pieces getting ready to solder an elbow. When I tried to remove the Sharkbite so it wouldn't get hot it would not budge. Soldered the elbow anyway and it all worked out fine but these things are supposed to come back off.
