It didnt work for me. I dont remember if i read the directions to be fair though. But i may have. I give up, renting a stump grinder this summer

The hardest part was drilling multiple holes in the cypress stumps. I then filled 6" deep (7/8" Diameter holes) with this product. Added hot water. I will do a second application this week. In late fall I will cover stumps in charcoal briquettes and light. These stumps are only about 3" above ground level and hopefully I'll be able to burn them below ground level. I have a lot of unused top soil I'll spread around the stumps to keep any fire from spreading and a garden hose ready!

Bottle is designed to ease the application of the product as directed. You must drill holes in the stumps for proper application. I applied this to two stumps @ 2-months ago and will re-apply it this weekend. So far, no dramatic visible effects on either of the stumps. Hopefully the re-application will move the process along a bit faster. So far I'm not overwhelmed with the effectiveness.

Stump must be DEAD
I’m returning the product. My error. I thought this stuff killed the stump. It does not.
The stump must be dead before using the Spectracide stump killer. So I’ll Rtn this & find a product that kills the stump.

This product will accelerate the stump decomposition. The stump needs to be dead before applying. Pour approximately 4 oz of Spectracide Stump Remover Granules into each hole. Then fill with hot water to dissolve the granules. Continue to add water to the holes for several days to ensure Spectracide Stump Remover Granules dissolve completely. Didn’t work
I followed the directions exactly on a 6 inch bottle brush stump. I’ve applied the product twice and the only thing I have to show for my efforts is a solid stump with holes in it.

Wasted Money
I drilled holes and used it on a couple of tree stumps two years ago and then again last year. There has been no change or deterioration in the stumps.

It takes a while but it does work
I have used this on 2 stumps so far and it worked both times. The first tree was a white pine and it took about 6 months but the stump came out completed with a crow bar. The second one was a pepper tree. I drilled lots of holes and applied it about once a month with hot water. It didn't seem to be working as the top stayed hard. About a year later I tried the crowbar on it and the entire stump came out easily. It takes a while but it does work and is much easier than a stump grinder.

I had a LARGE stump from a silver maple tree...
I had a LARGE stump from a silver maple tree that I removed from my yard last fall. I used the entire container (8oz)in feb and march in holes I drilled into the stump as per instructions. Now it's mid may and I haven't seen any deterioration of the stump.......yet
