Good knive nothing is better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very basic, FIXED blade knife. For me, personally, this is a bit of an inconvenience as I like to carry a utility knife in my tool pouch, and in order to do that with this knife, I have to also carry a screwdriver to adjust the blade. The knife feels fairly sturdy and is comfortable to hold. If you are looking for something that retracts, I would recommend the STANLEY 10-499 QuickChange knife as I have used it for some time and will ultimately continue to use it over this knife as the ability to easily retract the blade is, in my opinion, invaluable in terms of convenience and safety when considering a utility knife.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This utility knife worked great for opening boxes, scoring and cutting drywall and green backer board, it performed very well when used for cutting the back of wall to wall carpet, and for cutting foam for cushions. I was very happy with the handle grip and the durability and sharpness of the blade.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using razor knifes for a long time. I have always leaned to using fixed blades for doing trim work. When working on windows and siding, it is the best tool around. It works so much better than having to set the blade each time you go to use it. The retractable blade is great but opening it and closing it a hundred times a day, they fail within weeks. I have some of these that are over 5 years old and they still work. It was great getting a new knife if for nothing else, it looks better than the one it replaced. I have used a single fixed knife for doing more than 1000 windows and siding for many of the houses to compliment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shape of the handle is comfortable to hold and use for extended periods- especially if you are applying a lot of force. This is slightly thinner than older Stanley knives which I find more ergonomic. I was interested in trying this to see how it stacks up against my standard (15 year old Stanley) knife. You need to remove the cover to switch or retract/extend blades which is a bit cumbersome since there is a screw rather than a tool-leas mechanism. This is not ideal for situations in which you are frequently accessing/retracting the blade. Given that there are no moving parts and this is entirely metal, I expect it will last forever. There is room to store several blade inside the tool in a self-contained section. The knife comes with one blade which I found to be very sharp and more durable than generic replacement blades. If you are looking for a knife will likely stand up to regular use for tasks that require access to a blade for extended period this will serve your needs well.

I have been a shipper and receiver most of my working career. This is hands down the best utility knife for all day use. I like bright colors for easy location on the factory floor. I use the same model at my home for DIY projects. It locks in place inhansing safety. and comes with 3 flippable blades to get you started. I recommend this to any utility knife user. Don't take chances on safety.

It is literally safer to open boxes with a machete than with this horror show. Unscrewing it doesn't cause it to come apart; you have to apply pressure. In doing so, the whole thing falls apart and suddenly there's a sharp, exposed razor blade. When you try to screw it back together, the screw is horrible at lining back up; even then, the "fixed blade" will fall out out the end because there's NOTHING securing it inside. Seriously. Buy a machete before you buy this train wreck and save yourself the Workers' Comp paperwork.

Cheaply made not impressed with it. Blade was dull and di d not cut nicely. Do not reccomend it.

This model utility knife is the workhorse in my shop. This is essentially the standard that is used across many different tasks and purposes.

Pretty good tool it works very well

hard to work with have to screw it out to use and screw it back to close it doesn’t have a slider for open and close.

I buy this type of knife for the simple solid state. W/no sliding retractability. Technically my job Is drywall framing. Spec. I only install Suspended acoustical ceilings. The only Draw back of this knife is blade limited usability I could use more Blade ext. / Exposed in cutting Softer mat. I.E. Ceiling tiles. Shorter blade means I have to Drag through mat. At a steeper angle. More blade let's me keep blade More parallel to mat. And cuts better steeper Tends to , as it gets dull, Transitions from Cutting to plowing W/ mat. Rolling. Not leaving a clean crisp cut

Handy tool to keep ready for many jobs. Had to hide it from my husband, tho. He 'borrows' my tools and I never see them again!

Screw would not go in straight, never got it together. Will not use.

there wa sno release and retract gizmo on it the man should have shown me one that is safe.

This is most annoying design i saw for a utility knife. No safety. Thinking to return it off.

The utility knife worked perfectly!

It has a safety to slide the blade in, or out. I returned one with no safety for this one.. For the same price it confuses me to no end as to why one without a safety feature would even be made, but to be made and sold at the same price is ridiculous..

My only concern is that it does not retract after usage.

This is the dumbest utility knife I have ever used. I know the title says fixed blade, but who in their right mind would make a knife with a razor blade that doesn't retract or have a protective cover. I returned it because it is inherently dangerous!

I could not use this utility knife. I think the screw to open the body was warped and it would not open to get the blade out. So I would not recommend!
