The ribs of the umbrella do not just brake while closing the umbrella. Something had to had happen to the umbrella causing them to break. Our umbrellas also do not break with a slight breeze. There would have to be storm like winds for the umbrella to break. All that being said, we did not hear from you through our customer service team. From your description here, this tells us that the table seems too low, or the stand is too tall, because if that table is meeting the umbrella pole that low, it would take a much thicker pole, at a higher price, to not fold over under wind with the umbrella open. They are too top heavy. They are designed to meet most standard tables just below the crank, making them very stable in most normal weather conditions. However, if we could get photos of the damaged umbrella we can better diagnose the issue and provide you with a new umbrella that will not fail you.
