Our problem was clay soil in high-traffic north-facing area of the horse paddock. After mixing barn lime into the mud and drying out the area as much as possible, I rolled out the GeoGrid up-side down as suggested by other reviewers to keep the ends from re-rolling, then covered it with several inches of 1” minus crushed rock. The result has been significant improvement in soil stability in spite of continuing spring rains and the best (worst) efforts of our horses. Ten days later I continue to add gravel as necessary where the gravel fines have sunk into the mud below and where the horses’ shuffling feet have uncovered GeoGrid but I need to do less and less each day. One word of advice: wear long sleeves while rolling out the product especially if working by yourself. The cut edge can scratch. By the time I finished, my forearm looked like my cat “got” me.

    good stuff
Was putting in a large crushed concete driveway, on a sloped surface with a clay base. Bought this stuff and instructed my contractor to put it down. He had never seen or used it before, but he put it down and he is a believer. Took less materials, packed tighter and level, and is very stable (we have had huge rains since then that have not touched it). He asked me to send him the info on it so he could recommend it moving forward. I should get a royalty! Well worth the money, more than pays for itself and delivers a permanent solution. Going to use it on repair projects in our small community.

I have used this product over saturated loam that water fills to the surface the moment you dig. After using this product and 8 inches of number 5 gravel, it will support a fully loaded 15 yard dump truck. It would be magic if it weren't science.

        Plastic Rebar!
This product is effectivly a Polypropylene (plastic) rebar. We used it to fortify the ground under some of the kennels we have that do not have a cement floor. This product helps us keep the crushed limestone in place and prevents it from rutting and running away during flooding or bad weather. It was shipped in a roll and very easy to lay down in the kennels. We found that rolling it the opposite way from the way it was shipped straightened out the curves. Once the dirt/limestone was in place, there were no problems at all. As we pave all of the kennels we will be using this and hope it will lessen the amount of time we spend laying down "fresh dirt".

Easily add a driveway in almost any soil type and/or use to un-stick your car/truck
72 in x 60 ft EarthLock TriAx GeoGrid Black Polypropylene Stabilization Underlayment I added a picture of our drive two months after I spread gravel WITHOUT GeoGrid. You can still see some of the gravel but not a lot. All we have is soft sticky black mud. GeoGrid's claim is that on soft ground, it works like a snowshoe to distribute the load. And that is exactly what it does. I leveled my drive one more time and rolled out the GeoGrid. It was so easy my granddaughter rolled out the GeoGrid. We found the best way to keep it from rolling back up was to flip it over. I was surprised how easy it was to cut with just a pair of scissors. We will be adding a layer of gravel on top of GeoGrid but I thought you won't be able to see the GeoGrid if I did. I kept two 2 foot strips off the roll to use as traction grids when we get stuck in the yard. Or you can roll it up and put it in your car/truck in case you get stuck. Just shove the EarthLock GeoGrid under the tire and drive out. I haven't tried it on ice or snow but it is worth a shot. Minutiae: 100% UV resistant Will not rust, leach or degrade in direct sunlight

Absolutely essential for use in unstable land
I am building a new house but it is next to a small marshy piece of land. The area at one side of the property was the worst. Even in relative dry weather last summer, the ground would sink several inches when walking on it. After laying this TriAx GeoGrid and topping it with approx 10 inches of top soil, the resulting effect was truly astounding. Even after heavy rain it will sink perhaps half an inch, a quarter of what it used to do before using the Geogrid when walking on it and when the earth is dry walking on it producing no sinking whatsoever. During this Fall I had numerous heavy vehicles coming down my gravel driveway and a stretch of 20 feet I was constantly having to fill in due to sinking problem. Now considering myself an `expert` (not) I dug out the bad area, laid some more Geogrid (two strips 30 feet X 12 feet) and re-laid it with soil and gravel. After two weeks, the heavy trucks had compacted the ground and only leave their tire trace and not once has the area shown any sign of breaking down, see attached photos. I highly recommend this for anyone who has an issue with either sinking or moving as in a sloping area. An excellent remedy for fixing unstable land.

Great Stuff! Helped Stabalize Parking Area of Adobe Type Clay Mud
When I found this I was wondering if it worked. I did my research & found that this is High End Commercial type soil stabilizer used in road making & structural stabilization of unstable soils. The roll was easily cut & reconnected with a good wire cutter & some HD Zip Ties. I have had this project in my back thoughts for some time & with the blessing of receiving this I went ahead & got the parking area sherd up & stabilized & compacted. I cut this into 3 equal lengths of 20 feet each with an overlap of about 6 inches or so. My parking area is approx 25 x 20 feet. Had the Crushed 3/4 inch Road Mix delivered (10 Yards) & spread it out & compacted with a plate compactor all in Montana Winter Conditions. Worked Out Wonderfully! Great soil stabilizer, I now have a nice solid, clear, non muddy parking area. Bravo!

Light weight but should be used with larger media not small gravel as it will fall through the grids.

Works well supporting geo grid so it does not press into sand/soil when driven on. Also prevents aggregate from sinking under pressure. Where gloves as plastic is rigid and has shartp edges.

I was doubtful but desperate. Worked as advertised. The semi that delivered the 25 tons of gravel couldn’t drive on it, but the Kubota tractor that spread the gravel could drive on the grid with no problem. Now that the gravel is down, packed and settled, cars and pickups don’t sink in at all.

Cheaper than buying the cracked gravel/bags to place over the earth (then sand, then pavers, then sand again). The 72 in. x 60 ft. really worked well for th 15' x 9' patio. Easy to cut, lay down (put in small spike u clips to anchor to earth). No sinking! Have plenty for other projects!

          Stabilizes rock/gravel path.
I made an error and dug a path and poured pea gravel. The path is very unstable and hard to walk on. I bought this and (after double work) placed this on the leveled ground and put the gravel back in place. path is much more stable. I am going to use it as part of the base for a patio as well.
