love the machine
love the machine, i went in home depot today at11;30 today to pickup 2015 mx505 toro,took 2 hours to purchase with cash, got home after 1;00 with wrong manual and a resevoir with no fluid,went back got the right manual,the resevoir is for steering transmission fluids! call for toro hydr fluid or 20w 50 motor oil,old womn trying to sell me hydralic fluid,i have sold auto parts for 44 years,there is a difference, so iwent to shelf with her no toro hydr gear,,no 20w50 motor oil, i had to go to auto parts and buy 20w 50 oil. i didnot want to get on new machine,missing oil,why does home depot sell equipment and no product,? got home battery dead,all cables loose battery and solenoid its great mower,to add i had taken a day off work to make this happen,,i only hope toro reads this.

Great Machine!
Read all of the reviews to date before I purchased it. It was delivered setup by a local dealer who was very helpful and correctly set up the mower to cut perfectly. I purchased the recycler deck kit. The first one received was not the correct kit model for the MX5050 50" welded deck but the local dealer was helpful in making the correct kit model selection. The correct kit was fairly easy to assemble and required changing blades. I fashioned my own tool for removing the spring tensioner for the belt from a 14" 3/8 threaded rod with a hook bent on one end ground flat and a 6" piece of schedule 60 1 " PVC for a handle. Pulling a pin on the from bolt hanger and lifting the rear slightly and pulling the deck forward gives enough clearance to pull the deck out sideways then tilt it from the back to service it. The engine started effortlessly and the power it has (24 HP) to mulch leaves, small twigs and pinecones is amazing it literarily vaporizes them. The mower came with the engine hour meter and a nice heavy floor mat. The seat is very comfortable and has arm rests which can be folded out of the way to enter and exit. Having about 2.5 acres to mow with all of those trees is a dream with the zero turn. Cannot wait for it to grow so I can mow again.

All in all great mower
Great mower It is very comfortable and cut my mowing in half. Only mowed 4 times with it so dont know how it holds up for years but happy right now. I would say with proper preventative maintenance it will hold up. I like it better then my fathers commercial mower. Cuts clean and its speed is perfect for my yard(uneven lots of obstacles and mole hills a little over 3 acres of finish mowing). Im 6'3" 250lbs and I have plenty of room comfort was a big issue for me when buying and I love the seat. I went and looked at alot of mowers that was cheaper and wasn't impressed on the comfort level. Only problem is im rough on them so dont let this next statement stop you from getting one. I hit stump with my front caster fork and bent it. I took it off and heated it and bent back. My fault but maybe some weakness in the steel. The deck is a tank hit it several times and no damage. Besides the forks the only other thing is not good on wet slopes gets a little squirrely. I say buy one im happy!

    Worst money I’ve even spent
    I bought this mower 2 years ago and it’s been broken down 6 times since then. It was missing parts when I got it and has had so many problems with the pulleys and starter since then. Place I bought it from refused to admit it’s junk. I’ll never buy another one again.

      Product has good features but is down more than running
      Purchased in June 2017. Only had to replace belt that summer. Had it serviced over the winter. April 2018 had problem with keeping it running had to have carb. rebuild (warranty) also had electrical problem with PTO switch another warranty fix. June 2019 after another belt replacement at about 155 hour, idle pulley failed at 172 hours owner fixed. At 174 hours second idle pulley failed and I will change the third one since TBF seems to be about 175 hours. Housing weld has broken behind the grass chute and has to be manually bent back in place to keep from rubbing on rear tire. Machine runs good when it runs but I did not purchase it to become a zero turn mechanic. My dealer is 25 miles away and I have no trailer so have been forced to learn to fix it myself. Also, the lower unit seems to come loose from the bracket on one side quite frequently but I do live in a hilly area. This is frustrating and also takes time to re-hang while cutting.

But truth be known, she LOVES this machine way better than candy and flowers! As of to date, I hav'nt had the pleasure of operating this machine. This has been a win win situation. My wife loves to mow the lawn, and I love that I don't have to. Should have invested in a zero turn mower many years ago!!

          So far not happy with cut. Very comfortable ride but people are paying for their grass to be properly cut, not your ride. Installed mulcher kit and blades, easy install. Will be trying gator blades to see if cut improves. My John Deere cuts beautifully, this mower was bought as a backup.

          If you purchase this mower you will have problems. The first thing that will happen is the Mower deck will "pop off" of the bar it hangs on. Mine has done this several times. The dealer was pretty good about putting it back on the rail but it is so inconvenient. I finally learned to do it myself. It has some type of electronic issue. Mine went back to the shop twice with this issue. It would run for about 20 minutes and then stop. I finally had to take a video to the dealer so they could properly diagnose the problem. The next thing that will happen is the drive belt will come off. This is a big problem. It will not move and makes it very difficult to get on a trailer to return to the shop. The dealer said he has seen this numerous times with this model. Again, he feels that this is a design flaw. I just picked it up from the shop and was excited to finally get to mow after waiting 5 weeks. I tried to engage the blades but the technician had missed a pulley on the mower deck. The belt got caught under said pulley and cut the belt. It's a good thing I keep one of those in stock. It also has some "Glich" with the starter / battery. You turn the key and it will click but will not turn over. I mentioned this to the dealer and he responded he felt this was again a design flaw. He was convinced that the battery from the factory was not powerful enough so he sold me a heavy duty battery for $90.00 but it did not fix the problem. I am going into my third season with this mower; I have 139 hrs. I mow about 3 acres in a neighborhood. I do have some trees. My neighbor bought this same mower and has had the same issues. There is no way I will ever buy another Toro product. Magnolia tx

            I would not recommend this mower. I've had this mower for barely three months and it will no longer start. Worse yet, Toro themselves provides no support or service for the mower and the local Toro dealer will not provide service either. With that I'm left with a $3,000+ piece of scrap metal. If you are looking are a long lasting, quality mower, look elsewhere.

              Mower is powerful and fast. Have been using Trim and Tow modes to learn how to use controls around obstacles. Use Mow mode for wide open areas. No problems so far. Mower is very comfortable even across some bumpy terrain at all but highest speed. I also like the oil change feature that includes a built in hose to drain oil - very handy and reduces mess.

              I purchased this mower from Home Depot. It was last years model with 0 hours on it. On my first cut the seat fell off going down hill due to a missing pin, no big deal. After 16 hours of service the Carb started acting up and blowing black smoke. The repair shop replace the choke which didn't fix it. Went back to the shop, and of course the shop couldn't duplicate the concern and returned it to me. I told me to change the oil and battery (I already knew this would not fix anything). The repair shop got it again for the third time and they rebuild the carb without filing a claim with Toro. for two months I cut grass with my bush hog and tractor. With 18 hours of service the solenoid had stuck closed causing the starter to run while cutting grass, this also trashed the starter. The repair shop once again didn't put a claim in to Toro and Kohler would not warranty the starter because they stated it was not there fault. Toro customer relations was no help either. The deck clutch sticks open intermit which causes a no start condition until I turn the clutch off and on several times. and the right brake intermit will not release causing the mower to do circles to the right. I now have 40 hours on the machine still under warranty. Today The Home Depot management team went above and beyond and gave me a full refund for all my troubles. Being the mower has never run or performed correctly all the time I still feel it was a good mower and was impressed. I just got a lemon. All my lawn products are Toro brand, and I'm wanting the new myride with a 60 inch. Maybe Toro will reach out to me for some great customer service I never got with this purchase.

                Eagerly awaiting to find out the same day it was supposed to be delivered that it was damaged. Crate wasn't damaged but parts were to local office couldn't put it together. Disappointing especially considering the crate was not damaged.

                  The machine works great. My autochoke seems to stick a little when first starting. Shows signs of flooding a little. The rear tires are fairly large but I seem to experience a lot of spinning on uneven ground. I have not had my first fifty hour check. Which I will at time request they check the choke and maybe the hand controls. One side seems to steer quicker than the other.

                    Great Zero Turn
                    This is the best mower I have ever purchased since my last TORO. I have a 1974 TORO Wheelhorse that runs as good as new and never did a thing to the motor. That is why I insist on a TORO. It is worth every penny paid. There are many cheaper zero turns out there but not as good as a TORO. I only have had my Zero for about a year and it is GREAT and comfortable to ride.
