With the new “green “ movement by the public in place all mower manufactures now engineer and design the mower to be a mulching mower first and foremost. Therefore, the mower is designed to keep the grass blades in the mowing chamber for a longer period of time to mince up the clippings to the smallest particles. Yes, the spring grass does hold an extreme amount of moisture compared to summer when the heat of the sun dries it out very quickly.
Please find below some tips on cutting and mulching problems. Each lawn is unique in regards to the growth and lushness of grass. As such, subtle adjustments to the mower or method of mowing may be needed to provide optimum cut and finish appearance.
Cut only 1/3 of the grass blade at a time. Cut off up to one inch at a time.
If the finished lawn appearance is unsatisfactory, try one or more of the following:
Engine RPS at full throttle and drive at a slower pace while mowing
Raise the cutting height on your mower .
Cut the grass more frequently
Overlap the cutting swaths instead of cutting a full swath with each pass.
