Junk. Rusted in less than a month after installation. Do not buy if it rains where you live. Unique Home Designs never returned phone calls for warranty.

Very poor quality. The curly pieces have two tiny little tack welds and only on one side of the bars. One of them broke off during shipping. Will have to come up with a way of re-attaching it and securing the others. This is supposed to be a window guard ???

easy to install, nice video instructions. although $20 bucks for the drill bit is somewhat extreme.

Nice and solid, attractive, serves the purpose. I did not use the screws provided with product but used my own because I did not want to pay an extra $15 for the tool. Product could be a little cheaper and include the mounting arms though, silly to have to purchase them separately at an additional cost! Overall a bit too expensive for the entire package!

These guards are a lot cheaper than having them fabricated or buying from a specialized retail security store. Lots of comments about how someone could pry the bars apart, break them or cut them. (No one has claimed this to happen on any of the reviews I read). Here is what you can do to increase the strength without spending a whole lot more $: 1. buy an extra set of hangers and security bolts. (4 hangers and 4 bolts) 2. buy 3/8" rebar at the big box store. you can get 36" lengths for less than $2 each. 3. measure the horizontal bars and cut the rebar to length and slide them into the square tubing of the security bar(s). Measure and cut the length that you feel will work best. Mine were 26". Short pieces of rebar can be slid/stacked into the tubes. 4. the extra set of hangers and bolts are used for the vertical bars. Use a hacksaw and cut the fancy tips at the ends so that you can slide a piece of rebar into the tubing. 5. Rebar is hard to cut with hacksaw... just takes time. I used my grinder. If you use a hacksaw get a coarse blade *I had a 6 X 3 window so 2 of the guards were used

Although these bars are tubular steel, once they were mounted to the brick on the inside of my window sill, they were very sturdy and are likely almost as effective as solid wrought iron, just as attractive and at a fraction of the cost. The adjustable brackets, that are purchased separately, are solid steel and allow a single window guard size to fit a variety of window dimensions. The guards had free shipping. Hard to beat that.

I wanted to add some security to some windows that were located in a pretty isolated area. Bars were the best option. I found these on the Home Depot site. Their competition didn't have anything even close. These look great! I'm so happy with them. They will work beautifully and although someone said it will make my house look like a prison, I actually think they spruced up that side of the house. Easy to install...just make sure that if you don't own a 'one way driver' that you get one from the local hardware store. Only about $10. I'll be getting sets for a few more windows. The online instructions for installation and measurements were very helpful. Took the guess work out of what sizes to order.

They look nice. They don't have that jail cell apperance. Installing them with the security screw socket was simple. They are everything as described and more. Shipping was right on schedule.

The product is well designed and arrived in good condition. Installation is simple and everything fits as designed.

Just what I needed (unfortunately)

I like the fact that the size is perfect for my garage door. I take out one star because it comes with a slight bend and the anchoring screws is for walls and not suitable for door. The anti-theft screws is hard to use.

Strong enough for window, perfect fit.

There should be hole s pre drill holes for the screws !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just needed extra security on my garage window. These “gates” are very lightweight and fit the bill perfectly.

It was difficult finding a single set of bars to go across my very wide living room window. The most touted solution was to purchase two sets of narrower bars and to join them together with the proper hardware. However, being able to purchase just one set of wider bars was simpler and easier as far as installation was concerned. These bars matched my other bars perfectly. They are strong but lightweight and look great on my large front window.
