Should've listened to the negative reviews! This turned my pine boards a pastel shade of lavender... Great if that's what you're going for, not so much if you want a weathered wood look. Out of desperation, I wiped on some Restor-a-Finish (walnut) and that definitely toned down the blue. It's looking a little better but there's still more blue than I would want. this made my barn door look more blue than grey. if i wanted blue i would've bought blue

The product worked as advertised. It gave the look we wanted. It is quick and easy to apply. The results vary significantly from board to board which is what we wanted. If you want a more consistent look a stain would be better.

Fantastic stuff that makes brand new wood look like it’s been weathered for years. Love it!

This is the first time using the Varathane Aged wood product. On large custom homes we used other products that made the wood more of a gray weathered look. This product gives the wood (band saw fir) a natural brown weathered finish. Time will tell how it interacts with the weather but so far it looks great on the first application. The mix of water to pure content is another variable that we experimented with, selecting a 3 to 1 mix for exterior and 6 to 1 interior. they both look great. Wood species have n impact of the look. Fir has the best look so far in the selection we experimented with. happy staining!!!! James from Montana

I love this product but it is getting hard to find, Home Depot needs to keep this product in stock

Coverage what I wanted. Protection of painted furniture was goal. When cured is very hard.

This is a great product Used in many colors However I should not need to have to order on line when I could previously walk in and get off shelf and I should not have to buy 2 at a time as pro customer I should be able to buy as needed on any given day

I bought the wrong one. I needed oil based. This felt like colored water.

Worked great on a coffee table I made. Used lacquer to seal it and it looks good.

Product does not work!! So disappointed. It looked gorgeous applied but like all the reviews stated, when I tried the recommended topcoat (watco lacquer) it removed all the barnwood grey color and just went to color of wood. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The picture on the front of the can was accurate, the wood turns a beautiful gray aged color. As soon as any type of finish hits it, it turns brown. We followed the recommendation on the back of the can to use Watco lacquer and it turned brown. We tried Varathane Polyurethane, it also turned brown. We tried Bona Waterbased Polyurethane. . .brown once again. There company says that finish will 'darken' the aged appearance. It actually completely changes the color. Complete waste of money.

Very thin hardly effective

Interesting product. I used a lot of reclaimed wood…mostly weathered barn board and fence rail…and this mimics the gray, weathered look pretty well. I faux stain new cuts to match the old, then apply this everywhere to enhance the tone and provide uniformity between new and old.

My barn doors looks just how I pictured it would.

This is a unique finish and needs to be tested before use.

Great product, very versatile, covers well.
