Q:I used this product on a cement fireplace surround and it isn?t drying. I wiped off excess and even scrubbed with a damp cloth. Can I just paint over this product?

Fool proof!
This gel stain is amazing!!!! Not a fan of honey oak but fell in love with this pedestal table. Thank goodness I saw a gel stain application/ after process or I may have never bought it! Run don't walk to get this. I will agree dry time is excessive but for a lifetime of beauty it's worth it!

Varathane, Gel Stain
Gel Stain product by Varathane was a excellent choice for the fiberglass door and wood trim along side lites. I’ll be honest I was looking for a minwax product but all in area were sold out an out of stock in desired colors. Decided applying two coats of Gel Stain, Varathane . Pleased with product, will use again soon.

New door… new trim color
We recently upgraded our front door and side lights And the trim on the interior made it look unfinished. So using this gel stain, we darkened the trim, and now it looks finished. Couldn’t be happier.

Great product!
So easy to use to achieve the Look I wanted. Minimal effort if you follow the directions. I painted the base coat rosewood color and used a sponge stain applicator and brush to get the wood look.
Paint it with the grain of the wood and direction of the boards. Vertical board get stained vertical. Pretty easy.
Took my plain boring white wooden door to stunning! Stained before the driveway was installed but this product doesn’t drip.

Best result
I used 3 big cans of this stain to transform all yellow oak we had in house from stairs to door frames and window frames. You have to get experience to know how and how much to apply and how to clean. The image shows only one coat of it. I get used to how get result in only one coat. Very nice and easy to apply just don’t wait to dry and clean because it will be extremely hard. Apply and very gently clean the extra and remove line of brush or rag and leave it to dry. I used rag

Best color ever!
Great to work with for vertical surfaces or a finishing location as mess is very limited. If you want this product to be a bit thinner to more easily get into the cracks of doors etc. I put about 1/2 cup of the left over premium stain into the gel stain mixed well with wood stirrer. It thinned it up and stained just as well without the splattering mess of the non gel stain. For best results stain remover to desired stain darkness with lint free cloth (old socks work the best on you hands like mittens) let dry overnight before top coat as the gel takes more time to dry in the cracks.

I have used several different colors of varathane gel stain, and I get perfect results every time...
I have used several different colors of varathane gel stain, and I get perfect results every time. You don't even need to use wood conditioner... Just wipe it on, wait a few minutes, and wipe it off. It looks exactly like it is supposed to.
