First three bags were fine. Went back the next day and bought three more. Soaking wet and turned out brown. Thought it was because they were wet. Nope. Now my flower bed has two different colors in it. Not happy.

Overall good value but each bag contained small pieces of plastic, metal or trash

I ordered Scott’s and was delivered this by mistake. I didn’t rate it based on the incorrect item being received though. This mulch has huge tree limbs in it and is not consistently sized. I had to remove quite a few pieces bc it looked like dead plants and not mulch. It isn’t consistently colored either. Definitely recommend the Scott’s over this. Pic attached shows the difference between the two.

This is the worst mulch ever!! I'm not sure what the problem is recently but I have never had large pieces of garbage (cans, plastic, tampon applicators) this is embarrassing. Not to mention its far from premium, most of the pieces were small tree limbs and hardly what I would call mulch. It's costing me to actually load up and return the 25 bags that I didn't use, this is poor customer service and quality of a product. DO NOT BUY

In know way is this premium mulch but a guess you get what you pay for. I is full of large chunks of trees, chopped up fence and Evan a part of a broom handle. About 10 % of the bag had white mold on it. Stay away from this product.

I purchased four bags and when I received them they were soaking wet inside. The color should have been red but it almost looks brown/black. The customer service from the store was also not great.

I assumed that a 12 month color guarantee would be some assurance that this mulch would hold its color. Two weeks after spreading it, it looked worse than last year's (Scott's ) mulch. See photo. I took the idea of a guarantee seriously and called customer service to arrange a refund. They approved it, and after some hassle at the store, I was given a full refund for the 15 bags I bought. Next time, buy Scotts.

Product was soaking wet with stain used to color wood. Had to poke holes in numerous bags to drain excess water. Black water ruined clothes, shoes and stained parking lot and driveway. Product is not being dried properly before bagging at production facility. In my opinion they are rushing the process to meet demand. Contacted manufacture to advise of wet product and as much as a gallon of stained water in bags. Person I reached listened but offered no apology or initiative to have someone contact me. Asked for quality control but advised had none. Extremely disappointed in product. Typically I use 60-70 gags annually and moving water soaked bags multiple times from pickup, loading, unloading and laying adds excess weight in addition to ruining clothes, shoes and staining concrete that doesn't pressure wash off. Home Depot needs to better inspect their product on receipt.

First time using this and like other have said it faded all color after the first rain and one of my bags had some yellow bug eggs in it and had to throw out one bag. Still have 2 more but not worth using. Ordered black mulch and has been one week and it looks like this after rain.

Purchased 25 bags as this was on sale and looked good on the bag. It looks like last years mulch. Not only did it have mold, but had green tinted portions, like the color of the brush on wood preservative. I won’t purchase again. I may try to dye it brown as it was supposed to be. See photo.

This, bar none, had to be the worst "mulch" I've ever purchased, but having company the next day, did not have time to return it. BIG STICKS, chunks of wood and a lot of it looked like stones. I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone and, if this is indicative of Vigoro's quality going forward, I can promise I won't buy Vigoro products anymore. Terrible to work with.. and they called this PREMIUM???

I put it in my artistic rock garden. I call it my dried up stream bed. It looks great, the red with the green of the daffodil, yellow of the flower and yellow of the forsythia bushes gorgeous

This 2 cu ft bag of Vigorous black mulch was $3.33 at Home Depot and is probably the best value for bagged mulch. It contains a mix of small and larger wood pieces, but is acceptable for flower beds and around trees. Hopefully it will minimize weed growth as it claims. The black color was consistent throughout the bag, but more like dark, dark brown, but is still striking in my yard. If you’re used to getting brown mulch, you need to switch to black. I highly recommend this product from Home Depot.

I have used this for years and was a great product/quality of shredded hard wood. I started noticing the change in the product last summer and had to sort through bags at the store. After years of use, I recently ordered 7 pallets to replace pine straw and Vigoro has changed it to poor quality pine bark chips. I had a work crew waiting and had to place it rather than delay and cost more in standby and returning. Will change to different product next replenish unless they fix the quality issue.

Product looked great going down until the rain came after 3 days. That was more than enough time to dry out! I paid more for your product thinking it would last at least through summer, I was wrong!

Love these wood chips. Make your yard look amazing.

Mulch was ok but had to separate foreign material. (metal clip, golf ball, larger stones, thicker branches and small lumber - not mulched)

Great product. I use every few years to clean up the look.

It’s filled with brown sticks and rocks. I found some glass and plastic also. Mike from the Howell NJ store said “what do you want me to do if you already opened them.” He said that he wasn’t aware there was a color guarantee and I could contact the vigoro sales rep. He said I could rebag the mulch and bring it back with a receipt for a refund.

Got this mulch and it really made my yard pop! Love the product and staff

Great mulch. Easy to spread and it's a beautiful rich brown. It gives my atrium garden a finished look.

I had a pallet delivered to my driveway and separated the bags and placed them on my concrete walkway before spreading. This took about 90 minutes. The bags were wet and stained the concrete and driveway and will not wash out. I tried finding a vigoro website to report the problem and ask for potential solutions but I can’t find a website.

I put the Vigoro, black mulch from Home Depot out last night. It rained overnight and the black color washed off. Now it’s half brown. It’s still black where the mulch was under the porch overhang.
