Only 35% of seed germinated
Watered for 5 days only a few sprouted. Obviously not a Southern mix for Texas.

Seeds germinated after about a week with consistent light watering. Grass is growing and nice color green. I like the thin blade of the grass.

Love this seed! It grows in low light which means it grows well in the winter too (albeit slower). It will die off in the heat of summer unless watered well I guess. But if you're looking for an inexpensive (<$40) way to keep your yard green in the off season, this is great!

I put it out just before sunset last night....
I put it out just before sunset last night. The timing was perfect. Rain overnight watered it lightly. Ideal. Used some Scott’s starter fertilizer that I had on hand.

Online listing missing critical “2/3 is annual rye” info
I carefully check the pics to look before I ordered and the packaging appeared to not give the seed type anywhere. I figured it was similar to the slightly more expensive non contractor product.
Once I got it home, I found a sticker on the bags (that wasn’t in the online product photos) that said it was 66% annual rye. So 2/3 of the seed is useless. I returned all 10 bags.

Mostly annual rye grass
I bought this because it says it retains water and thought it would make a good southern lawn. It sure does but that's because it's 64.8% annual rye so if you want a temporary lawn buy it. It's comes up well but dies in about 4 months.My lesson learned is always go to the store and read the ingredients list for the grass seed.

The vigoro grass seed that I purchased has done a...
The vigoro grass seed that I purchased has done a wonderful job in my yard. I used it to over seed my front yard and it is already coming up in all areas.I watered it on a regular schedule and it has paid off. I will recommend this seed to others in my subdivision as I walk my puppy "sophie". I look forward to many more purchases from The Home Depot for use in and around my home.
