Great grill but have a few issues. Not perfect
I wanted to use the grill a few times before writing this review. The grill is awesome and I do not experience the flame ups normally experienced on the Weber Genesis. I really enjoy the smoke box. The grill cooks very well and my family has commented on how the food tastes a bit better. It is much easier to control the heat on this grill. It is also much easier and faster to clean. There are few items I am disappointed in. Gas valve to left of sear knob is hard to push in when during to light. It also requires the knob to be pulled out after lighting the burner to stop the lighting process. Knob is very rough when turned and does not move as freely as the others. Not sure how to correct this. I travel a lot and have not had time to reach out to your service department. The left door magnet was pushed into the door with just the corner of it still holding the magnet in place but it would not hold the door close. This was corrected by removing the bottom riveted trim panel, removing the magnetic holder from door and reinstalling. Trim panel was reinstalled. Doors are very crooked and could not be aligned with just sliding the doors in the bottom grooves. A washer had to be placed under the right door around the retaining pin to align it to the height of the other door. Both doors had to be slide to the far left to make them look symmetrical.

Still going strong after 12 years!
We've had this S-420 for 12 years and it keeps on going! It came in a BIG box and was mostly assembled. I just bolted on the side tables, set up the cabinet and adjusted the doors and we were ready. The grill has worked well for years. Burgers, steaks, seafood, veggies - you name it. The side burner works well, but basically has one setting - boil. You have to keep track of what you have on the burner, because it will get heated up quickly. My favorite item for the burner is sautéed mushrooms! We added the rotisserie attachment (it was a separate item back then). Chickens and roasts turn out amazingly well with the rotisserie. The grill has held up well. The only items that have needed replacement have been the knobs, cracking about a year ago and the wheels were replaced a few months ago. I don't expect plastic to hold up over this length of time. I also added a second light, as the single light was not bright enough. This is great grill and when the time comes, it will be replaced with the 470. Assuming that time ever comes! Good job, Weber!

    Rusted out.
Bottom and left panels completely rusted out at six years old. My old gold c is 20 years old and still in good shape. Crazy for a grill that cost this much

Completely rusted out at 6 years old
This was a grill purchased for our second house. I already had a gold c that’s 20 years old and is still in near perfect condition. The new grills are not built like the old ones. This is my last Weber grill.

This not your grandfathers Weber - poor quality
Was absolutely thrilled when I first bought this grill. The best Weber made. After only 2-3 years, it started to deeply rust. When the firebox was removed there was a ton of rust on the frame which Weber would not address. Couple years later the hood rusted through. 2023…. rusted through firebox and the frame rusted again, burners shot. Went to Weber claiming the grill was a lemon and wanted a replacement or refund. At this price you should be cooking, not pretending to be a body shop doing repairs.

SPECTACULAR GRILL-LOOKS FANTASTIC, COOKS LIKE A DREAM, LOOKS LIKE A MILLION BUCKS .
I've had a Weber Summit since 2001. Same model as this, just over 20 years old. It passed away recently. So I decided to step up and take the plunge and get the NEW WEBER SUMMIT GRILL equal to the old 1 I had in size and burners. But this new grill is something else. Built in rotisserie, rear infrared burner, heavy side burner, extra sear burner tube that really does the job, built in smoker box and upgraded storage area in cart. SHES A BIG TALL GRILL. AND SO DARN PRETTY. But this baby can cook. So many ways to use it, so many options, I just wish I could cook on it in my living room! But to give you an idea how much I love this grill, I am including a photo of it on our living room, representing my gift to me for Christmas. Of course my wife made me put it on the deck as soon as we finished opening presents, but was I happy. Trust me I had a horrible year and deserved this grill. Did I mention: she can cook! Do yourself a favor, buy this grill. You wont be sorry.

          Cadillac of Grills
This grill is pricey, how ever I love all the features and the heavy material they seemed to use. The features put this thing over the top, love the lighted knobs and led lights on the handle. It cooks pretty good, you do need to preheat a solid 10-15 min to prevent nonsticking.

Perfect if there were side cabinets for storage
I purchased this S-470 grill on 04/24/2017 so, a little over 4 years later, my review: Following my own motto... "buy the right one the first time and you'll never have to buy it again" (motto created after buying the cheap ones) I bought this grill because I wanted a grill that was built tough and made to last. After 4+ years, it still works and looks like new and I grill weekly if not more often -- even in the winter when I have to shovel a path to the grill! I just keep it clean and covered when not in use and have had zero problems. Is it worth the extra $$$$ to buy a Summit grill? Yes! Hands down, the best grill I've ever owned and fully expect it will be a family heirloom after I'm gone - lol. My only wish is for attached, matching side cabinets so I could store all my grilling accessories. I guess I'll be making my own.

            Piece of junk
It is very expensive but useless piece of junk. Knobs broke after 3 months, and you can not use it anymore.Knobs are out of stock everywhere, near to impossible to find them in Canada. There are some in US weber site but just read reviews there! You will need to buy them there every month! Find something else, without knobs it is just a garbage on your backyard.

An excellent all round versatile grill
This is my third S-470 grill, only because of moving house, not because the previous ones wore out. The included features, durability, ease of use, low maintenance and reliability are fantastic. I considered a Genesis, which is rated higher by Consumer Reports, but decided to stick with the S-470 due to the rotisserie burner and smoke chamber, not available on Genesis. Also, the grate design on the 470 is more robust with larger diameter tubulars. I also like the built in rotisserie motor on the 470. My only issues (slight issues) are heat uniformity (slightly hotter on the right side), lack of electronic ignition (the 470 has push-and-turn ignition on each burner) and the push button light switch design for the burner knobs. The rubber weather protection for the switch only lasts a few years. It's impossible to find the perfect grill and all things considered, I definitely recommend this one.

                  Not a lifetime grill
Worked well for approximately 10 years. Now firebox is rusting and the rusted metal is flaking will soon me every unusable based upon fire hazard. For this price, it is a shame the stainless steel is not of higher quality.

WARNING! Razor Sharp Edges under Control Panel
Just replaced a 10+ year old Summit S-470 with a new one and am getting used to the newer control knobs and higher heat capacity. I still prefer Weber over other grills. The grates and heat distribution as well as quality manufacturing is higher than others in its class. BE VERY CAREFUL!!! The 16GA (.0598) metal is very sharp! The area just underneath the control knobs, the control panel, is a safety hazard. After the first use, cleaning the control knobs with a paper towel, fingers were cut. (Think deep paper cut). If children come near and run their hands under the knobs, you could have a serious liability issue. Metal measuring gauge was procured. Molding was carefully researched. Ended up purchasing on Amazon the "Trim-Lok Edge Trim – Flexible, PVC Plastic Edge Protector for Sharp and Rough Surfaces – Easy Install, Push-On Edge Guard for Cars, Boats, Machinery, and More – Fits 1/16” Edge, 7/16” Leg Length, Single Gripping Finger, 25’ Length". Get the one with gripping finger to ensure that it stays on. This molding is metal reinforced. While you will not need all 25' of molding, the purchase is well worth not severing my fingers or the risk to others.

Best BBQ in the world. I have had many others. Even heat and solid construction. I had a dead thermometer from factory and customer service was excellent to deal with . Fast and sent a gift for the inconvenience. I am very happy with the investment.

I purchased the all stainless grill so it would hold up! But it hasn't! I keep my grill in a covered lanai. The grill is safely kept out of the rain and sun. I keep it clean and covered with the fitted black deluxe weber grill cover. little rust corrosion spots have formed all over on the stainless hood, doors and side shelves? Also the chromed Weber emblem has corroded, pitted and chrome is falling off! I barbeque vary seldom and have used the grill maybe 5 times in five years. I bought it mainly for its looks and have kept it super clean and polished. The emblem seems to be aluminum or pot metal that is chromed plated. Looks bad! Called Weber to see if they would send me one and they made me buy poorly designed failed part! I will never buy a $1000 plus grill again they don't hold up and they don't back them up as well as they should be.

Top of the line for a reason
Great grill. I have a small portable weber (Q120) for about 6 years now and it is still working like a champ - no issues, no rust. Kept outdoor covered. Now I just got the Summit as a Bday gift and I love it so far. Planked some salmon last night and it was delicious. Lighted knobs and cooking area light are making it easy to cook in the evening. Hopefully it will last at least the same as the little one.

I have had my Weber 670 for about a month now and absolutely love it. Been waiting for a grill of this quality for a long time. First, it does take 3 people to get this out of the shipping container, two to lift up and one to pull the bottom shipping brace off. After that one person can put this together in about 2 hours. Had no issues with the assembly at all and the grill worked great the very first time. I have never had a grill that heats this evenly. The temperature is easy to control. I have used the built in rotisserie once and cooked two chickens at the same time. They were cooked perfectly. I did watch a couple of the Weber youtube video’s prior to cooking the chickens, they helped out greatly. I also bought the Weber “elevations” system with the skewers and the Expansion Rack. The skewers are very easy to use and the elevations rack makes cooking with them a breeze. My favorite accessory is the expansion rack. I have included a picture. We cook a lot of chicken, BBQ, Lemon Pepper . . . and the expansion rack along with a couple of pans of water cooks them all perfectly. The pans of water help control the heat, add a little moisture and keeps all the dripping from entering the grill. Have already used one bottle of propane, can’t wait until summer !!!

I received the S-670 in December and have used it for tri-tip, burgers, chicken breast, and a 15 lbs. turkey on Christmas day. So far the experience has been excellent. The grill was delivered on time. It was easy to assemble. Everything worked as designed. My only complaint is that it has rained so much in Northern CA these past two months that we have not been able to grill as much as we like to! Not a bad complaint to have for getting out of an extended drought period!

Worth every penny and then some!!
I have wanted this grill for a long time and was hesitant due the the extravagant price tag but like my title says it is worth every penny and then some!! I have always had Weber grills and this one obviously is my favorite. It it unbelievably built well at close to 250 pounds its a tank! Assembly took lest then 20 minutes as its 90% assembled from the factory. This grill gets incredibly hot when needed maxing out the gauge at 800+ degrees. The sear station works fantastically for cooking steaks to perfection. I consider myself a pretty good griller but my first fillets were restaurant quality with perfect sear marks. This is due to the 9MM grates that hold the heat in. The control is fantastic letting you precisely set the temp and it will stay there. One thing I thought was cool but was unsure how often I would use it is the LED lights behind the control knobs. BEST IDEA EVER. When grilling at night it is very easy to see what you are doing along with the auto light on the handle that lights up your food. I could really go on and on about it but to sum up this grill is probably one of my best purchases ever. I am so happy with it and look forward to creating many meals. I would HIGHLY recommend this grill!

This grill has more than met my expectations
After receiving and assembling the S-670 grill we have been using the grill at least 3 - 4 times a week. In fact my son, who received a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) has more or less taken it over and really enjoys grilling for us.

                          Last one I will buy
I have owned for about a year and a half now. I was one of the many others who would get a new one about every year because the quality of the deals you get elsewhere with other brands is not meant to be a long term investment. Had a warranty issue with one of the doors damaged on shipment, Weber overnighted one to me...amazing. As I said last one I will buy. I also was contemplating the fewer burner grill and followed the advice of another reviewer to get the 6 burner... Not a regret doing that at all.

                          Ridiculous
If you look at the price of this grill and think "that's absurd," you are absolutely right. This is a crazy amount of money to spend on a grill. That said, if you are in the market and have the cash to "burn," you will not regret it. I've had my S-670 for almost two years now and use at a minimum of once a week, often more. Altogether it's 10 burners, but it's really more efficient than I thought\ it would be. The temperature control you can get is superb, and multi-zone cooking is consistent. As others have noted, it does heat up quick, but keep in mind that the stainless steel grates in this model are thicker and heavier than any others, so they grates need time to get searing hot throughout before you put food on (or it will stick). I'm very glad I was finally able to take the Weber plunge. I had to option to go this route or the Big Green Egg. I enjoy eating off my friends' BGEs, but for the versatility and efficiency, I've never regretted going with the Weber.

I like almost every aspect of the grill. It is easy to cook on and clean. Rotisserie makes great and juicy poultry. I even made a duck, it came out with crispy skin. One drawback, a full gas bottle is very difficult to place on the hook for the scale.
