Great features. Little hard to use

    Clock doesn't work
    This microwave came with my new home. The previous owner bent the door. My appliance person has tried 4 new doors. None of them have a clock that works. My model is: 76719. The microwave works, but the clock will not set properly.

      Looks Beautiful
      [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this model and have had for a few weeks. Two days after receiving it the controls went out on it - completely blank screen only to reappear a week and a half later. Thankfully they are replacing the door but wondering if I will have issues in the future with it now. Hopefully it was a random event. Very nice looking micro and has a really cool display.

        Only used it 5 or 6 times. Now it wont connect to wifi. A few days later the time went off then a blank screen. Unplugged three times over a few days to try and reset. When you call Whirlpool like it prompts you to do, there is long wait time then it says you have reach a voice mail box.

        It generally works but is poorly designed
        As noted on several other reviews, the mounting nut retaining system is horribly designed. I was extremely careful trying to start the mounting bolts into the nuts but - only using my fingers - the nut fell out and into the interior of the microwave casing. I dismounted the unit, removed all the casing screws, extracted the nut/retainer. The retainer was deformed so I had to bend it back in shape. Second attempt - it fell out again. This time I glued the nut/retainer in place with superglue gel. That did the trick. From a useability perspective - two major issues. The fan is rated at 400 CFM - I rotated and installed the fan correctly (that's not the problem). The fan blows lots of air. I checked to make sure the damper is not blocked. But the internal ducting design is so poor that it draws almost NO AIR from the cooktop area. While it is jet-engine loud, it barely moves a candle flame! I suspect that actual airflow from above the range is probably close to 4 CFM - barely detectable. Second issue is the user interface. It's quite possible that this was done by a marketing intern, not a UIX designer. Again, horrible execution. To turn the fan on you have to click on the menu screen. There is a TINY fan icon with four settings. When you click the icon it does change the decibels - the airflow may go down but that's imperceptible. We haven't really tried cooking much in it yet - I'm hoping that the microwave puts out power reflective of its 1600W rated power and that the convection oven works better than the fan. While other reviewers have expressed dissatisfaction with the wi-fi, I found that it connected easily. Again a useability issue - I set it up for my wife, but she'll use it. The PROBLEM is that you MUST create a Whirlpool account and the microwave is only linked to that ONE account. WHAT? Again, horrible UIX design - how many families have only one user? I'll update accordingly. Pretty frustrating performance for the price-point.

              Love convection function
              I was initially very frustrated with this microwave because of the number of steps involved to cook anything. However, after getting past the initial learning curve, I have found that all of the "standard" easy cook options are there, plus a few I've never had before. The best part for us, however, is the convection feature. Even though I also have convection in my regular oven, the microwave is great for preparing smaller sized items, or reheating leftovers that beg to be crunchy. It heats up much faster than the regular oven, and gets the job done adequately in less time. As for the "smart" feature--the free Alexa we got wouldn't start up without a phone call to Amazo (who knows how long that could take...)n, so we haven't even bothered My only major complaint is that the touch screen constantly looks dirty and shows every single finger that touches it.

                        I have had nothing but trouble with this microwave. After installing I set up the internet wifi and the microwave indicated there is new firmware to load. Knowing that new firmware is better than old firmware, you upgrade the microwave. Shortly after finishing the update the microwave reboots to active the firmware. Thinking that the microwave is done and ready for use. We start using it. After two attempts to warm water for 30 seconds, the microwave rebooted mid-session. During dinner prep my wife steams frozen veggies. During these sessions the microwave will just stop midsession with no done beep and no update on how many minutes are remaining. We have had a tech come out and they claimed the problem was the door. I said that is highly unlikely but if I wanted this fixed I had to accept a new door. New door arrived, with new tech. Door installed, firmware updated, and surprise surprise the the microwave is doing the same behavior as before. I now have an engineering service ticket but no further contact from whirlpool to address this issue. I had high hopes for this product, so far not impressed.

                          Nice microwave, BUT there is an installation issue with mounting bolts! The captive nuts in the unit are UNC (course) thread and the supplied bolts are UNF (fine) thread; so, when the bolt cross-threaded the captive nut broke loose. Installation is finished and a return is required unless you improvise which I did. Gently verify the bolts fit BEFORE you try to mount the thing! I would rate 4-stars but for this installation trap created from poor factory quality control.

                              The microwave was installed in January, 2019. It worked for 2 months then stopped. The service provider supplied by Home Depot came out 2 weeks later, took a picture of the door and two weeks later came back with the wrong color. Two weeks after that, came back with the correct color door (Sunset Bronze) and worked great for two days, then died again. I am now waiting another two weeks for the repairman to come back with another door panel. When will this nightmare end? I am stuck because my suite of new appliances is the Sunset Bronze color and feel that I shouldn’t have to put up with these defective door panels but no other appliance brand has this color choice.

                                        Fantastic Microwave - Best I've owned!
                                        I brought this Microwave to replace one that stopped working. It is the best Microwave I have owned. Here is why. It does both Microwave and convection, and does both well. This is my first smart appliance, and I am loving it. I will be using it a lot more in comparison to the previous Microwaves that I have owned.

                                                [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this unit. I purchased it mainly because I wanted the Sunset Bronze stainless (this is the only model sold in that color). Luckily, it also had all the features I want (convection, recipes, etc.). Everything I've used so far seems to work perfectly. Caution: if you're looking for a simple microwave device, this is not it. With complex features comes a learning curve. It's a little overwhelming at first, but worth the effort.
