Very easy to adjust. Also, and this is big, the rubber coverings on the ends stick really well to the walls where we need the curtain to hang. This is big because the walls start to curve towards the opening/front of the shower stall there. But the rubber ends hold it tightly despite that.

Hi Greg, The Zenna Home NeverRust Adjustable Tension Shower Rod uses a TwistTight tension mechanism for installation with no tools. Twist to unlock and extend rod to each wall and turn the inner tube away from you until rod is fully tightened. If this doesn’t work for you, please contact manufacturer’s Customer Service at 800 892 3986 from Monday-Friday between 8:30AM-5:00PM.
