How do I rent trucks or tools?

Can I rent a tool for an hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, call your rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a pickup truck, van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract before you choose a vehicle.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
