Can I rent a tool by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a truck or moving van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Remember to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before choosing your truck.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too.
