Why are the aisles full of stock on pallets? should restocking not be done at night/slow period? This happens quite a bit at this store.

Customer employee relations
Employee needs to help customers better. Went to the lawn & garden on oct 4th 2016 and i asked a women that worked there to help me find something and she just pointed in the back of the store and said it was down that way with attitude. Not the way to treat a customer !!!

        Went in with husband for bags of fiberglass stuff and the machine to insulate attic. Finally found someone to help. He found us 2 flatbeds and LEFT. We loaded all 29 bags ourselves while 2 employees stood by chit-chatting. We finished and needed another flatbed for the machine next to those 2 men. Found one and we were inspecting it to see how it works and what parts go with it. The 2 men LEFT. My husband and I loaded HEAVY machine and bulky hoses OURSELVES. Went to purchase and were able to, but had to go to OTHER SIDE of store to rent the machine. We have 3 FULL flatbeds to haul. Instead, I stood next to the 2 while husband hauled machine there and back. You think we got help loading onto truck? When we returned machine, they tried to charge us when we were not to be charged b/c we bought enough bags that it says we don't need to pay for rental. Then they asked where the container was for the hoses. We didn't know there was a container (which would've made it easier) b/c NO ONE helped us! Never again will I go in that store! There were other rude behavior as I needed help finding the protective clothing and all. I seemed to be an inconvenience to those I asked help from (2). One seemed to be manager and got all rushy with me, and he didn't know where they were. I did get help from one other person who pointed and said aisle 42. No aisle 42, but the pointing helped.

        We purchased a washer and dryer in this store and the employee that helped us was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He checked us out in the appliance section, which was really nice because they were busy and we were done in record time. We also stopped at the customer service desk on our way out to inquire about their policy on interest free on their store credit card, and again, she was so helpful, friendly and even called the company's helpdesk to make sure she gave us accurate information. We are new to the island and we will definitely be back to this Home Depot.

        Angel. She assisted me from the register and walked me back to help me get what I needed. She asked me right away if I had found everything that I wanted....usually I reply yes and just go ahead and check out.....but today I said no, and I'm so glad I did. She looked onto her handheld computer and checked the inventory and turns out there was a whole brand new carton just waiting to be stocked. She found them, even had to use the big movable ladder, but she found them. I appreciate her!

        THE PEOPLE FROM HOME DEPOT DENTED MY NEW FRIG WHEN THEY LOADED IT INTO MY TRUCK.
        WE HAVE A DAMAGED FRIG. ALL 3 DOORS ARE DAMAGED. WE CALLED THE GALVESTON HOME DEPOT AND THE RUDE PERSON WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE FINALLY DISCLOSED THAT IT WAS ABOVE HER PAY GRADE AND SHE WOULD HAVE TO TURN IT OVER TO MANAGEMENT. THAT WAS AFTER SHE ASKED US WHAT WE WANTED HER TO DO ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT IS STAINLESS STEEL AND DENTS JUST DON'T COME OUT OF STAINLESS STEEL. WE TOLD HER WE NEED THE DOORS CHANGED OUT AND THAT IS WHEN IT GOT OVER HER PAY GRADE. AT THIS POINT IN TIME WE HOPE MANAGEMENT MAKES THE CORRECT DECISION.

        Store would not honor my $20 coupon that was stored electronically in my Apple Wallet App. This coupon was sent directly from Home Depot. They said I would need to print the coupon on paper because the accountant wanted paper. Why would send me an electronic coupon, allow me to store it electronically on my Wallet App, and then tell me I will have to print it on paper because that's what the accountant wanted. Disappointing and frustrating to say the least.

        Every time I have to go to Home Depot I don't mind spending money. The associates are helpful, answer my questions, anticipate my next question and I've had the lady in the paint section help me in the lumber section. I never hear "I don't know". For a home improvement store, it is cleaner than you would imagine. The layout is easy for me to get through. The cashiers are friendly and fun.

        Get off the island
        Home depots on the mainland are much more helpful. Many times it will say it is available on the website for Galveston , but it is either not there or has not been stocked. The Home Depot in Galveston will not help you load your vehicle even if you ask. If it has not been stocked it is difficult to get anyone to help you. Occasionally, there will be helpful people but in general if you want a great customer service experience, leave the island.

        I'm going to start off complaining, but it gets better... When you stand around in an appliance department not thirty feet from the custom kitchens counter of a home improvement store, you expect someone to be there or to stop and see that you're standing there in less than an hour and a half! There were four store employees stocking shelves not five feet from me and none of them batted an eye when I said, "Excuse me is someone working in this department? I'd like to get an electric dryer." Finally, after the allotted hour and a half passed, a nice man in a cowboy hat came to the department, apologized if I'd been waiting long, and started answering my questions. He's a very good and knowledgeable young man and I was happy for his assistance. I was getting ready to buy the dryer, with one last question to be answered, and a former customer came up to him and cut in with a customer service issue regarding her purchase which had been messed up prior to my arrival. Considering the urgency of her issue, I allowed her to take him away to fix her business and I waited by the kitchen custom center for him to return. Over half an hour, and three customers were tended to by another department associate and that associate asked if I was being helped, Francys (ask for her if you end up lost in this store with no one to help you) answered the question I had been left with hanging in the air and she got my sale, so if they get commissions, good for her! She's an excellent representative once you have her to wait on you. Sadly the overall experience and customer service atmosphere of the store are both miserable. Even for the excellent service finally received, the amount of time it took not only to be noticed, but to get attendees to the department was unacceptable in the extreme. As for the product, the electric dryer is beautiful, it was delivered free and installed free, however to get the warranty you have to buy all new vent hose and electric cords. The installers don't know how to install vent hose on houses with no rigid vent coming through the floor or wall, and aren't equipped to install rigid line if it's needed. The semi-rigid hose has been bent to force it into the original vent hole in my floor, but it doesn't extend out of my house, and I fear to use the dryer with the vent system in this condition, so until I can acquire a rigid line and install it myself, I own a beautiful paper weight. Consider my mistake on this a lesson to all of you, make sure you have manufacturer standard parts installed on your home before getting anything installed by Home Depot's delivery/installers. They can't help you. Technically that's not this store's fault, but they should know their delivery men/installer's abilities and limitations and warn you up front.

        Great cashier's, maybe understaffed otherwise.
        Cahiers are on the whole, awesome. Mine this day was great. There are other issues here though. The garden center seems to be so severely understaffed that it cannot keep the plants watered. IF you can find what you want in the limited offering, it is to often dead or diseased due to lack of care! You really need to do better. There is usually a pretty good line for checkout so I think you could certainly afford an adequate staff. This is an issue inside as well as it is very hard to find an associate for help when you need it.

        We always enjoy the Galveston store. Fun shopping! The products are fun to look at. It's great to go through your list to find everything you need right there. Most people are helpful. You could spend a couple of hours just going through the store. We used to go to the League City store, but going to the Galveston store makes it just that much more fun!
