Please ensure the following prior to delivery:
- New dishwasher connection kit
- Water supply line (shutoff) within 6 ft. of hook up
- Electrical outlet within 6 ft. of hook up
- The rough cabinet opening must be at least: 24" W X 24" D X 34–1/2" H

The 500 Series Dishwasher will have an option on the new dishwashers arriving in August that allows the door to pop open once the interior temperature has dropped to 118 degrees. Our 800 Series Dishwashers will have an option for Crystal Dry, which enhances drying by 60%.

AnswerHi Legolas. Thank you for your question. The 500 Series Dishwasher, model SHPM65W55N that you referenced does not have the Water Softener for the Water Softener Salt. The Use and Care Manual does mention it, however this unit does not have it. We do have a model with the Water Softener, it is model SHXM63WS5N.
You did not answer the question regarding the food disposer. Does it come with a disposer that chops up pieces of good ?

AnswersHi George. Thank you for your question. Bosch dishwashers do not have hard food disposers. We use a triple filtration system which requires scraping large food particles off of plates before loading.

AnswersThe straw looking piece of plastic is actually a grommet that could be used to guard the cut edge of your kitchen cabinet that the water line would go through to access the water lines under your kitchen sink. This is really only needed if your kitchen cabinet wall that you are cutting a hole in (to run your water line to the dishwasher) is metal.

Bosch Dish Washer Failed after a few months :(
Bought this a few months ago and dishwasher control module has failed. Control panel froze up can't select any of the functions. Suck on auto but that won't even start. Extensive google reviews tell me the control module is damaged (likely from heat). I was looking for something to do anyways ;( time to sort this unwanted issue out and do my dishes by hand until this gets fixed - NOT HAPPY. I think I'll just settle on the cheap stuff next time !!

Best dishwasher I've ever owned
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We built a new home and put a lot of thought and research into the appliances we went with. This is nice and quite to the point my plumber needed to put his ear up to it to see that it was working because it wasn't as load as the usual dishwasher he typically installed. The 3 racks are really nice. I like that I have lay my silverware out without it touching on the top rack. The top rack is also great for thinks like canning lids and being or silicone cupcake molds that usually end up going everywhere in the dishwasher. I've already recommend this dishwasher to friends that are getting ready to build.

Best Dishwasher Ever!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I owned this exact same dishwasher in our first home. We purchased it after our Frigidaire dishwasher was making loud noises and beginning to fail. After four years, we sold our house and moved into a new place. We replaced our kitchen appliances with a Samsung package, and immediately had problems with our Samsung dishwasher. It was very frustrating. When Samsung finally bought back the irreparable dishwasher, we decided to go out and replace it with the exact same dishwasher (this dishwasher) from Bosch that we had purchased and loved before. We were extremely happy with it in the past as it was quiet, washed the dishes perfectly, and always stayed clean inside. Every piece of silverware, every glass, every plate, comes out perfectly clean and sparkling every time! We couldn't be happier with our purchase. It is the best dishwasher we've ever seen or used! It looks beautiful in our kitchen. Bosch's quality is first rate.

I am very disappointed in how wet the dishwasher is when the cycle is done. Even the extra dry setting doesn't eliminate the problem. And it's not just the walls of the dishwasher; plenty of the dishes are still wet. We dread going on vacation because we usually start the last load just before we leave. We're afraid we'll come home to a dishwasher full of mildew. Leaving it open isn't a solution since our dog will climb into the dishwasher in our absence and he paws at things when he is nervous. I also don't want to come home to a dishwasher hanging open anyway. The rack layout is sub-par, but I knew that going in, because I'd checked it out at the store. I don't find that it gets my dishes any cleaner than my previous dishwasher, even though I paid $300 more for this one. I can only hope that it is a much more reliable dishwasher than my previous one. On the other hand, I'd have an excuse to get a different brand if this one dies. We've had it about a month, and we do like the tip-top skinny rack and the adjustable upper rack. I'd heard such raves about Bosch and I'm really disappointed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the same dishwasher for 22 years, it was so loud that we couldn’t run it when we were home. I bought the Bosch after we updated our kitchen. It is so quite if it wasn’t for the red light shining on the floor you would not know the dishes were washing and it was on. The 3rd row is perfect for utensils and small bowls. The 2nd shelf moves up as needed live that. The only downside is there is a smell when dishes have sat a couple days. Old dishwasher didn’t have any odor even if they sat a few days. Dishes are squeaky clean when finished. Also simple to use. Looks great too!

Love my Bosch Dishwasher
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best Dishwasher I have ever owned! It’s very quiet and gets my dishes spotless! I have read comments about the drying ability but I would say 95% of my dishes come out dry. Only the cheap plastic lids that have crevices stay wet. This Bosch actually dries better than any of my previous dishwashers of other brands. I am very happy with the way it has performed for the past 6 weeks!

Awesome Dishwasher
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Earlier I reviewed this dishwasher, but did not have all the facts. Upon reviewing my review I observed video and pictures that show the versatility of this machine by simply adjusting the racks up and down. This may not have been clear in the book. I now say this is the overall best quality dishwasher I have ever owned! It has so many options on both space and cycles. I also like that I can put plastic storage containers in without fear that they will melt. And yes, it is so quiet that I now check the floor for the little red dot to make sure it is running.

Worth every extra penny! Top "third row" shelf is very useful for items that would normally fall through. It is so quiet that the red light projected onto the floor feature is very helpful. Even the delivery men commented that this Bosch was an excellent choice for quality.
