I upgraded my 2018 Dodge Ram Larime Longhorn "South Fork Edition" Mega Cab dually from the steel Alcoa 17's to a custom aluminum 19.5 inch wheel I was using the custom lugs and they kept breaking studs on my rear wheels so I went back with the original factory lugs which have a locking washer and used this torque wrench set to torque to factory specs at 140lbs and I haven't had any problems since tire shops just kill your lugs and studs by over torque and under tightening this was a problem for me and I literally lost $3000 in repairs due to broken studs on my rear end I was breaking 5-6 studs per month at $35 a stud plus my mechanic is a family member so he'd only charge me $100 per side to repair the studs you have to take the whole hub apart not an easy task and sometimes you'll damage the rear wheel hub oil seal and have to replace that too so on average it was costing me $300-$400 every 2,000mi this was so disgusting until I figured it out custom lugs are too skinny and don't give enough locking strength for the torque of this mean 6.7 Cummins and was snapping like pretzels I was about to give up on my custom 19.5's until I found a thread on lug torque and that that was my problem after this purchase and torque all the lugs to factory specs no more problems and just for piece of mind I check them every 3,000 mi and I haven't had another broken stud since oh and I Hotshot with a 40ft Gooseneck and haul anywhere from 10,000-17,000lbs on average and I get it sometimes I look up and I be at 88mph like oh let me slow this ship down lol oh and I went to 19.5 so I could get commercial road tires I now get 100K mi outta each set on 17's I was only getting 10K mi per set those rears used to tear up so bad I'll tell anyone 19.5 is the way to go for longhaul operations period.
