Hello me, thank you for coming to us for help. We're sorry your dishwasher won't start. We can imagine just how frustrating this is for you so we're happy to help. First, make sure the Control Lock feature is turned "OFF". Next, make sure there is nothing preventing the door from closing securely. Lastly, make sure Delay Start isn't turned on and try resetting the controls by disconnecting power to the unit for 2-3 minutes. If the problem persists, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA

I’ve run two cycles with dry boost normal and dishes still soaked. Am I doing something wrong?

Asked by Russell February 20, 2021

Answer

Hey Russell, thank you for reaching out to us with your concern. No, you aren't doing anything wrong. We're sorry your dishwasher isn't drying as it should. We can imagine your frustration so we'll be happy to assist you. We recommend viewing some troubleshooting tips here: 1) Water entering the dishwasher should be between 120 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit for best wash and dry performance. Run the faucet closest to the dishwasher prior to starting the dishwasher to purge cold water from the hot water line. 2) Make sure that dishes are not touching. Fancy cookware can also keep dishes from drying properly. If the problem persists, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We hope this helps! - Guy@GEA

How much water does it use? And how long does it take?

Asked by Mer February 13, 2021
2
Answers

Hi Mer, thank you for reaching out to us and for your patience. We truly appreciate you considering this fantastic front control dishwasher for your home and are happy to offer you some guidance! The dishwasher will adapt the amount of water used within the cycle from load to load based on soil level. Additionally, wash cycle times will also vary based on soil level, water temperature, and the options selected, and do not include drying times. For example, selecting the helpful Dry Boost or Fan Assist Dry options will increase the overall cycle times. - However, the average water usage and wash cycle times for your different cycles are as follows. The 1 Hour Wash cycle is intended to quickly wash lightly soiled dishes, uses an average of 2 gallons, and will take 60 minutes. The Light wash is for light to medium soiled dishes, uses an average of 2.4 gallons, and will take a minimum of 55 minutes. The Normal Wash cycle is meant for daily use and is designed to conserve both water and energy. It uses an average of 3.2-6.0 gallons and has a cycle time range of 1 hour 15 minutes-1 hour 50 minutes. The Heavy Wash cycle for heavily soiled dishes uses an average of 6.6 gallons and has an average cycle time of 2 hours and 31 minutes. Lastly, the helpful Auto Sense cycle that senses the soil level and adjusts the wash cycle accordingly has a water usage range of 4.0-5.8 gallons and time range of 1 hour 50 minutes-2 hours 10 minutes. - We sincerely hope that this information is helpful for you and are so excited to have you as a part of the GE Appliances family. All the best! -Eliza@GEA

The dishwasher was easy to install and is relatively quiet when in use. It thoroughly cleans the dishes and works finer than our previous model. It has been a little over a month since we've had it, and the mounting bracket of the top rack came loose and fell off; causing the top rack to be ineffectual. It appears that the bracket is pressed into the side wall of the dishwasher; not screwed in or attached with rivets. We have submitted a service request, and it has been two weeks out. Overall, we did not expect this kind of a poor quality from a GE product.

Love the New Look
GE's new line of smudge proof is terrific, love the way it blends in with my cabinets and easy to wipe and clean. Received dishwasher yesterday and tried it for the first time last night. Did an awesome job on the dirty dishes and glasses, so far no complaints. Still need to get used to the features which appear pretty simple to use.

Simple to use!
Easy to find what cycle you need to clean and dry your dished, pots, pans, and other kitchen items. Looks great in the kitchen!

Excellent size inside, electronics fail
Excellent capacity; holds a lot of stuff, great for glasses. BUT in 5 months, twice the electronics seem to fail. I’ve gad to call twice the technician. It doesn’t have a drain command, so I’m stuck with still dirty water inside the unit. Stinky.

Good dishwasher with some nice features. The upper rack adjusts so you can fit taller items on the top. When I lower the top rack to fit bottles and taller items then my plates do not fit easily on the bottom. It is easy to adjust with each load and it is quiet. I like the bottle washing feature too.

lower rack rollers fall off and melt into the heating element
So disapointed in this machine. Have had for less than a month and daily the lower rollers of the rack fall off and eventually melt on the heating element. Poorly designed.
