About This Product

Take out tough weeds with Ortho GroundClear Poison Ivy and Tough Brush Killer3. This ready-to-use weed killer controls over 60 Listed tough weeds and brush right down to the root, including poison ivy, poison oak, kudzu and wild blackberry. The formula starts working immediately to produce visible results in 1-hour. To apply, thoroughly wet weed foliage, stems or trunk. Apply when weeds are leafed out and actively growing. For best results, apply to mature leaves. Ortho GroundClear Poison Ivy and Tough Brush Killer3 is for use in non-garden areas around homes, cabins, buildings, fences and trails. Do not spray plants or grasses you like - they may die too. Rain or watering 2-hours after application will not reduce effectiveness. Weeds will begin to turn brown within 1-hour. Q:Does this kill lawn grass?
by|May 12, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Ortho GroundClear Poison Ivy & Tough Brush Killer3 Ready-To-Use is a non-selective control and will damage/kill grass. If you want to use on weeds in the lawn, we would suggest to use some type of shield to prevent drift/overspray getting on grass. Shield can be cardboard, plastic or anything else that will keep product off as much grass as possible. Another option is to use a product designed to be applied to lawns instead such as Ortho Weed B Gon or WeedClear.

        Fast acting
I had tried other ways to kill the poison ivy without success. I sprayed the Ortho product yesterday morning. The poison ivy has already shriveled up and appears to be dead. That is pretty amazing!

          Works as expected!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using the Ortho Ground clear poison ivy spray to get rid of the weeds and poison ivy that has been growing in our yard. So far I have been happy the results. You can see it working by the wilting of the leaves. We noticed that change within a day or two. It is a very easy product to use since it has an attached power sprayer. The sprayer allows you to get a more precise spray while not having to bend over to spray the root. This also allows you to get harder to reach areas like around fencing where ivy can grow.

                  Very disappointed
I recently bought a house and realized the backyard was full of PI. My wife told me she was severely allergic, so I bought this product. She was so happy to be able to go in the yard. We sprayed twice in June, and believed your product would work. My wife was still exposed. This is her reaction. This is what we were trying to prevent by using your spray.
