Yes UV light can be added on to any RO system as long is designed for 1/4" tubing. If you order the RO-PERM from our factory website you have the option to add the UV option on the RO-PERM page and it will come pre-installed.

Q:Is the prop 65 warning something to worry about ? why is it on this unit and not others? I thought I found the system I needed and now this warning?

Answer This Question
A: Hi Valued Customer,
Thank you very much for your inquiry and we do understand your concern. In 1986, California passed proposition 65 which has very stringent guidelines. This proposition mandates that products, packaging, and places that may contain certain chemicals, even in minuscule amounts, must display this label notice. For this reason, the majority of products that are sold in the state of California are required to display this warning including big box stores, restaurants, fast food chains, offices, even schools and many other establishments. Proposition 65 labeling does not necessarily mean a product is in violation of any product safety standards or requirements.
Please rest assured that all of our water purification systems are US built using premium food grade certified filters and system components for over 20 years so it is completely safe for drinking water.

Answer This Question
A: Dear Customer,
The reverse osmosis does reduce calcium from water. The system can be used with well water, we do advise you get a water analysis so you know what is in your water. Filters are recommended to be replaced every 12 months under normal water conditions.

Q:Will it effectively filter out viruses? I'm thinking about our condo in the mountains where the city provides untreated spring water (snow melt).

Answer This Question
A: Our RO systems are designed to remove 99.99% of bacteria and viruses from the water. For additional protection I would recommend adding a UV light to the RO unit as well. Q:Because of lack of under counter installation room I wish to install in the basement below. How much of a head can this system pump? Will it pump to the dispensing faucet 5 foot above? Is there another model that might work better in this situation?

A: As long as the vertical run is 10 feet or less you should be ok as the pressure inside the storage tank is what pushes the water up to the faucet. This unit will be a good choice as the pump provides more back pressure to the storage tank.
