A: Art3d's mother-of-pearl tiles are divided into two types, one is peel and stick tile, and one requires a thin-set mortar to install. If it is peel and stick mother of pearl tile, we do not recommend installing it in the shower. The product you are interested in can be used in the shower, and it can also be used as a countertop and for the wall behind the sink.

A: These tiles are made from real seashells. Each piece unique, some surfaces are wavy and others smooth. They are beautiful and iridescent, But very fragile (like the thickness of kettle cooked potato chips) and not suitable for a countertop. I used them for an entire back sink wall in a master suite and for the walls in the shower niches only. You need special thin set mortar and a tiny trowel to set the sheets, or the mortar will seep which is so much work to correct. I totally love the outcome but make sure you plan for practical usage for a decorative tile, which this is.
