Q:Can you still plug the washer in to the dryer if you are using the 3 prong plug? Or can you only plug the washer in to the dryer if you are using a 4 prong plug?

Answer This Question

A:  Yes, that is what I am doing. Mine came with the 4-prong plug installed, and the 3-prong in a bag. I had to open the top (good instructions, not difficult) and install the 3-prong -- and noticed that of the four prongs on the four prong plug, only 3 prongs actually do anything. (BTW I used the method#2 for connecting the three prong plug, easy and solid.)

A:  Hi Taber. Thank you for your question. Yes, you can plug the washer into the dryer when using the 3-prong dryer hose.

A:  Hi KH. Thank you for your question. We have two stacking kits available for the Compact Washer and Compact Condensation Dryer. We have a standard stacking kit, WTZ20410UC and a stocking kit with a pull out tray, WTZ11400UC.

A:  I retro-fitted the existing bracket to stack it on a washer. It must be fastened to the washer on which it is stacked.

A:  Yes, they are small. I have mine going into the sump pump hole - seems to be quite clean water.

A:  Hi Harold. Thank you for your question. Per the Bosch Installation Hotline, the standard standpipe is 2 inches. The combined hoses would be almost 1.3 inches, not recommended for the 1.5 inch drain pipe. Please consult with the codes in your area.

Q:Do the washer and dryer require separate outlets to plug into and separate drains? Or do they somehow link together to use the same outlet and drain. I am thinking about getting, but don't want to have to install an additional electric outlet and drain.

                Answer This Question

A:  No, in both cases. The Dryer has an outlet for the washer, and the condensate line slips into the same drain as the washer.

A:  This dryer has it's own plug. The other information you requested is not currently available.

A:  You can put them in the same drain, but the dryer output is clean water, not so for the washer.

A:  Hi SpaceCityGirl. Thank you for your question. Our washers plug into our dryers, requiring only one outlet for the pair. The plug type for the dryer is 240V; NEMA 14-30 (4 prong), this can be changed to a 3 prong plug if indicated at time of sale before delivery and install. The drain hoses can also be linked together to drain in the same location.

A:  My old traditional dryer typically required 20-30 minutes to dry a load. This new ventless dryer takes about 45 minutes. Not a huge difference. For draining water, you have two options: empty the drain canister after each use or connect the drain hose to a drain. If you don't have a drain to connect to, you'll need to hire a plumber to help advise you on where you might be able to connect a drain hose. My plumber created a drain connection in my laundry area that drains the water into the same pipe in the wall that the shower on other side of the wall drains into.

A:  Considerably longer... 2 plus hours for a load of towels. They recommend drying towels in half load batches... still takes longer and you have to dry 2 batches now. Yes, you need a drain for the condensate... can use the washer drain, the drain line is quite small and slips easily into the drain next to the washer discharge hose.

A:  Energy efficiency is great, since it does not pump out hot air, but uses that heat again for drying. enerGuide ranks it at 311 kWh/yr, on a scale from 294 kWh/yr to 934 kWh/yr -- could not ask for better.
