A:  There is no need to paint the vent.  It is already painted black.

A:  You can paint it any color or leave it black, roof vents get painted same color as shingles.

This cap features both a back draft damper and bird screen, preventing outside air from entering the home and birds or small pests from entering duct work. This kit includes all materials needed for installation, including 8 ft. of 4" flexible ducting, 4" metal duct connector, 4" to 3" Reducer, and nylon zip ties. The flexible ducting conforms to UL 181 Class 1 Air Connector and CUL S110 requirements. It is NOT suitable for dryer venting.

A:  It does not. When you remove the shingle where the vent is placed, save and use the two nails. Don't forget your roofing cement/tar.
