A: The Duromax 7HP Water Pump will handle 1/4 inch solids. Any solids larger than that will require a FULL Trash Pump.

A: This pump can drain dirty water however, you don't want to pump any debris larger than 1-inch through it.

Answer This Question
A: Yes. I pump water from a creek located about 1100' away and water my yard. Using several water houses on the discharge end and laying those water houses on the ground might be best. Most sprinklers are designed for a constant/clean pressure that an normal water line produces. It's possible moss or some item could clog the sprinklers.

A: i would say yes. You might overwhelm a few sprinklers w/ 4" of water flow.

A: Hi waterboy from Roseburg, Oregon.
Thank you for your great question.
According to the Manufacturer, this unit would not have sufficient GPM to give you an adequate water supply that would allow you to actually spray water onto a fire. It does show a flow rate of 9480 GPH on a 2 inch line, which is only 158GPM, not very strong for firefighting a brush fire.
Fire code for Roseburg for a 3600 sq. ft. property, is 1000 GPH for hour.
There is a model that you can get online at: homedepot.com called the Koshin- Model # SERH-50B, Internet # 203716615.
This portable 4.8 HP High Pressure water pump that states it is designed for fighting fires with a flow rate of 7920 GPM at the discharge point on the machine. On a 2 inch-
ten foot hose, you will still have 6950 GPM.
The Koshin- Model # SERH-50B pump features High Pressure to move water further and to new heights. The Honda GC160 Re-Coil start gasoline engine, provides 4.8 HP to really Push Water Harder. Featured amazing Height Capabilities over 180 ft.
If you are going to get a portable pump for fighting fires, you might as well get one that you can depend on.
For additional information you can also contact: Fire district # 2, 1-541- 673-5503 for specific requirements on pump GPM for your area.

A: This can be used for that as long as you don't need to pump from very far away or very far up-hill. It will loose pressure and volume the farther away or more up-hill you have to pump. I would probably use either a 2" pump with the same HP engine or run a reducer into the 3" pipe and reduce to 2" or less for more pressure.

A: No, but fittings and debris screen are. You have to furnish a solid hose for the pick-up end and you can use about any kind of hose for the discharge end that the fittings will fit. I use black ABS plastic pipe when I need to pump long distance. It can be used for either end and it's reasonably priced compared to collapsible or solid rubber/nylon types. Just make sure you use appropriate angle joints to keep from kinking it if you have to go around a tight corner. You can purchase this stuff in 100' rolls if you need that much for very little money compared to other types. Look on the internet if you want to buy collapsing types. They are easier to store but will rot in the sun quite fast.

Answer This Question
A: I posted a review just a short time ago, but I pump water from a creek to my pond w/ this 4" pump and my creek and pond are about 1100 feet apart w/ a 30 foot difference in elevation. So yes, it would work for what you are asking. The fewer the 90s (PVC fitting) the better. Straight is better.
