A: Thank you for your inquiry on the Everbilt 1/2 in. Copper Pressure Cup x MIP Male Adapter Fitting. Yes, a brass cap can be used on copper. These fittings are NPT tapered threads. If you have additional questions, you can reach a NIBCO Technical Services Advisor, M-F 8am - 5pm EST, by phone at (888) 446-4226.

Q:I can't get the threaded portion to screw completely on to the other connector. I need it to go all the way, but it only gets about 1/3-1/2 and stops. I've tried several units and they all do that. Employee said the threading isn't very good.

A: Thank you for your inquiry on the Everbilt 1/2 in. x 3/4 in. Copper Pressure Cup x MIP Male Adapter Fitting. This fitting uses NPT tapered pipe threads so they will never fully bottom out. This is standard for tapered pipe threads. If you try to bottom out the threads they will damage the parts. If you have additional questions, you can reach a NIBCO Technical Services Advisor, M-F 8am - 5pm EST, by phone at (888) 446-4226.

A: Thank you for your inquiry on the Everbilt 1 in. Copper Pressure Cup x MIP Male Adapter Fitting. The fitting you reference is a 1 in. nominal fitting that would fit on 1 in. nominal copper tubing. We would recommend looking at a 1/2 in. nominal 603 Female threaded adaptor that will solder onto 1/2 in. nominal copper tubing, then you can use a 1/2 in. male NPT threaded spigot to attach to the female thread. If you have additional questions, you can reach a NIBCO Technical Services Advisor, M-F 8am - 5pm EST, by phone at (888) 446-4226.

A: Thank you for your inquiry on the Everbilt 1/2 in. Copper Pressure Cup x MIP Male Adapter Fitting. Our Solder cups will accept Copper tubing of the same nominal size, so a 1/2 in. copper solder cup with accept 1/2 in. copper tubing. The fitting would not go inside the pipe. A: Thank you for your inquiry on the Everbilt 1/2 in. x 3/8 in. Copper Pressure Cup x MIP Male Adapter Fitting. Copper should not be adhered or glue to PVC or plastic. The recommend transition method is a copper threaded by PVC hub union. NIBCO unfortunately does not currently offer an option for this. If you have additional questions, you can reach a NIBCO Technical Services Advisor, M-F 8am - 5pm EST, by phone at (888) 446-4226.

A: Thank you for your inquiry on the Everbilt 1/2 in. x 3/4 in. Copper Pressure Cup x MIP Male Adapter Fitting. This fitting is threaded for plumbing applications, not for a garden hose. For that application you will need to use a garden hose adapter. If you have additional questions, you can reach a NIBCO Technical Services Advisor, M-F 8am - 5pm EST, by phone at (888) 446-4226.
