A: The Everbilt Gate Wheel is made to fit gate with less than 1-7/8 in. outside diameter tube. Shims included helping fit 2 in. or 1-5/8 in. tubular gates.

Q:Why is this the only option? I remember seeing a spring-loaded rod assembley on a gate that would hold a gate in place.

A: There are (2) options; A; You can still use rod for the gate. The bracket just holds the wheel in place. It’s much easier to operate the gate, at the proper height off the ground.

A: The wheel is 8" diameter. Will you have enough clearance? The mount does not pivot.

A: Yes it should, but it may not be a smooth movement because of the surface.
But it will keep it off the ground without a problem.

A: Yes, I live rural and have the wheel installed on 14ft gate at my drive entrance. It rolls over gravel with no problem. There's approx 1/2" play between the wheel and the mount to accommodate for uneven surfaces. The wheel works great for me.

A: The wheel is 1inch. However to accommodate smooth movement over uneven surfaces there is approx 1/2inch play between wheel and mount. You'll need at least 1.75inch between gate vertical tube and gate post.
