This Foam Tape will compress down to 3/16” of an inch and fills gaps from ½” down to 3/16”.

Q:Why doesn’t the Product Specs slide match the package slide for width & height? The Product Spec slide would have you believe that the 1/2” compresses across the adhesive backing. It’s confusing.

A: This foam tape is 3/4 of an inch wide with adhesive across the three-quarter of an inch. The height of the product at a half inch will compress down to approximately 1/4 inch.

Q:Is it better to place this on the surface of the window swinging open or on the window frame?

A: If you are using the window plce it on the window. If you don't plan on using the window then place on the frame.

Q:Can sanded caulk be applied against this, using it as backer rod? Regular backer rod does not stay in place and falls into the void. It's a 1/4" vertical gap.

A: You can use this, however it may also fall into the void. We suggest a larger diameter backer rod.
