A:  Hello, thanks for your question. Our weathervanes are not officially wind rated. I can tell you, we've been manufacturing them since 1982, and they are on rooftops across the country.

          A:  Directionals should be stationary. Only the rooster moves. The directionals have set screws that should be tightened during assembly.

            A:  The directionals (N, E, W, S) should not move. There are set screws in the directionals to keep them in place. Use a compass when setting up the directionals and then tighten the set screw.

              A:  This weathervane may be placed on all size cupolas. It is a personal choice as to what looks best. I recommend a 26" or larger cupola.

                Q:This is to follow up the previous question about the thread size in the 18" steel rod, black. The rod has female threads in both ends. One end is for smaller rod that supports the rooster figurine. The other end is for mounting without additional bracket; I assumed. I could only drive a 1/2-13 bolt in for about three threads. It got stuck. I don't want to force it until I know what the thread size is. I don't think 1/2-12 is a standard thread. Does Good Direction carry this special bolt? Should I request one? Thank you,
