A: Yes, but you have to purchase a separate kit that contains different gaskets for oil-based products. If you use the sprayer as delivered the lacquer will dissolve gaskets intended for latex paints and will leak, possibly starting a fire.

A: No, to spray lacquers with the ProX17 or ProX19, you must purchase a lacquer conversion kit, and follow Static Grounding Instructions (Oil-Based materials).

Answer This Question
A: You have to use the solvent recommended by the manufacturer of the oil based paint, such as mineral spirits.
by|Aug 26, 2019
A: Randy,
The back of the paint will recommend how to clean up the material. If it flammable solvent based material is being sprayed make sure to have the lacquer conversion kit. If it is non-flammable material usually 100% mineral spirits are recommended.

Answer This Question
A: Ben,
Typically pump kit 24Y472 would be used to rebuild this sprayer. You would only need to do this if the pump starts leaking or you're getting poor performance. 300 gallons is just a guideline.

A: Marcus,
You can only run one gun on the ProX17 unit. With two guns you would not get the proper spray pattern.

A: This sprayer is sufficient to spray for your job, but you will need to refer to the paint you are spraying for the size and pressure settings to get the finish you want. The machine is more than capable, but there are a few things on the users side that need to be completed as well. Good Luck.
