A: Hello and thank you for your inquiry. Installing embossed crown moulding is an excellent way to add character and design to your space. Embossed crown moulding is installed using the same steps as any other crown mouldings, however you will want to match the patterns when joining two pieces to ensure there is a consistent pattern. If you require installation instructions please view the product page for this item on HomeDepot.com for instructional video and additional product information. We hope you find this information helpful in the completion of your current crown moulding project.

Q:Do I need to sand this embossed crown molding before I paint it? I'm afraid I will sand the design out of it?

Answer This Question
A: I painted it and only sanded the joints where I had puttied. It covered and showed the design great. You won't sand off the design if you only lightly sand it to prep for painting.

A: No, you don't need to sand it. It's ready to stain or paint as is. After staining it, we used one layer of clear semi-gloss polyurethane to protect the stain, and matched the sheen of the cabinets.
